“Family Holiday”

This is my second visit to this hotel with my family (age range from 38 to 70) in January.

The hotel is approx 10 minute taxi ride from the airport. It costs 12-13 euro and they are waiting outside the arrivals door for you.

The hotel is located across the road from a wide sandy beach with afew sunbeds if you want to hire them. In January it was alittle cool so we didn't bother. Plenty of sunbeds round the pool and in the winter months there isn't a problem getting one.

The hotel is a 30-40 minute walk into PDC or you can get on bus around the corner for 1.20 euro each way. The bus service is pretty good so getting round the island isn't a problem.

The food in the hotel is excellent so try and loose afew pounds before you go. We were all inclusive so enjoyed the drinks with our meal. The rose wine isn't too bad. we were a party of 7 so the waiter had our table ready for us every night, including all our drinks and water!

The hotel is spotless and the staff are very friendly. They were renovating rooms while we were there however we didn't hear any noise from the work.

The hotel had a wide range of nationalities and we found everyone very friendly. I would definately come back again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 4th floor with sun in the afternoon. Pay for a pool view.

“Relaxing Family Holiday”

This was our first time in Canaries and we really enjoyed our holiday.

La Geria had an ideal location for us; across the road from the beach, close enough to walk to & from PDC but far enough out from the busy strip to feel quite relaxed.

Communal areas of hotel were clean and well presented, staff were pleasant and helpful. The on site car rental kiosk was very helpful and car rental was excellent value for money. Stayed B+B, and breakfast was OK, lots of choice, busy but no queues.

We were pleasantly surprised in the family suite to have 2 sleeping rooms. We would stay there again.

“Two week winter break in January-February 2012 at the La Geria Hotel, Puerto Del Carmen.”

A most enjoyable time was had in a wonderful hotel. The hotel is well located, 15 minute walk will take you to the San Antonio and a further 15 minutes to the heart of the strip. Alternatively a local bus from outside the beach entrance of the hotel right to the bottom of the strip can be had for a very competitive price of €1.20. Generally the local bus service are a very effective way of getting around the island and all prices are quite keen.

The staff were very friendly, polite, courteous and helpful at all times. Nothing was too much trouble for them and all spoke english competently. There was a strong focus on quality customer service across all staff levels. The hotel itself, pool area, bar and dining areas were bright, airy, clean and maintained to a very high standard.

We were booked half board (all inclusive was available) and the quality and quantity of food available was superb. The breakfast buffet in particular was extensive and very impressive. Staying for two weeks the buffets can become a tad repetative. Arriving on out first day at approx. 10:00 pm after the dinner buffet was finished proved not to be a problem. We were seated in the restaurant and served a cold meat and cheese platter with breads, fruit and water. This was offered as compliments of the hotel in lieu of the evening meal that we had missed, due to our arrival time.

Daytime pool side entertainment (special note of thanks to Rui) and evening time bar entertainment was to a very high standard. All in all we would recommend this hotel. Note to the wise, it is a quiet hotel and best suited to the 50+ age group or to patrons looking for a nice quiet restful break. Air conditioning was not operating during the winter months, however, we did not find this a problem.

“Great hotel, very good value”

La Geria is situated between Matagorda & Puerto Del Carmen its within walking distance of both but closer to Matagorda. Very reasonably priced, rooms all have pool or sea view. Breakfast had a great selection. Taxis are easily accessible in front of the hotel. Just said we would try this hotel for a change as normally stay in the San Antonio, however, La Geria is much cheaper!
