“Not Bad for 3 *”

Well we have just returned back home today after a week here, and i feel so strongly to do a review of this place.
The Hotel location is ok, at the top of a hill and going down the hill is fine it is getting back up which is the hardest part.
The Hotel is VERY Clean and the reception staff are fantastic and very helpful and the maids are wonderful if you tip them a little they really do look after you extra blankets on the bed etc......
The bar staff and restaurant staff are a different matter, there is a younger girl who was ok but the rest are AWFUL, they stare at you and if they dont like the look of you they wont serve you, one was texting on his phone and i just wanted a drink but they just ignore you and when the all inclusive is finished at 23.00 hrs they just chuck you out and lock up and go !!!!! you can go to the disco bar but the atmosphere in there is not the same.
They have NO heating on anywhere so be warned as the Canarias are having there coldest winter in 30 years !!!!!
The animation team, we nicknamed them the Smurfs are TERRIBLE, i am not sure what they actually do as they just parade round the pool in the morning and do nothing else !!!!
The food is ok, i am very fussy myself but i did mange to find something to eat, but to be fair like most people say on here it is tasteless and we found they catered for the German guests more as they tipped after a meal !!!!!!!!!!!
We ate out most times in resort and recommend the Oasis just around the corner for there breakfast 4 Euros and there evening meals are Fantastic at 10 Euros for 3 courses.
We also made some fantastic friends here at the hotel, so a very big thankyou to you all for making our holiday you were fantastic and i will never ever forget you all , God bless you all x

PS The beds are rock hard and we ended up sleeping on the sofas as they are nice and soft and we were in room 226 which has great views of the pool and sea so deffo recommend this room folks !!!

Room Tip: Well we has a top floor room over the bar and restaurant area and we experinced no noise so ideal it...

“Great 2nd Visit”

We stayed here 20th January for a week and were not disapointed. We had stayed at this hotel on our first trip to Lanzarote nearly 10 years ago and had been really impressed so were slightly apprehensive that it wouldn't be a nice as it looks like it has been taken over by a chain but were were not let down.

It seems the rooms are undergoing some refurbishment and whilst the bathroom and kitchen looked brand new the rest looked a bit tired and could do with a refresh but nevertheless it was very clean and we could get our towels changed every day if we wanted. We use the hotel as a base as there is loads to do so for us being clean was the most important factor.

When we arrived the staff were helpful and we didn't have a kettle in the room. We didn't know if this was meant to be the case or if maybe you had to hire it extra but I asked in reception and when we came back in the afternoon the kettle was waiting. Bed didn'st seem to uncomfortable, in fact I slept the best I ever have whilst away from home, very firm.

We didn't use the bar area at all but did decide to pop down for a drink one night. It was really noisy with lots of screeching and we found it a bit intimidating so about turned and just went to our room. We had a room at the other side of the main complex from the bar so got no noise but if we had been overlooking it I don't think I would have been impressed so I would recommend you ask when you book that you are away from this area if it isn't your cup of tea.

The main pool area seems very popular but we preferred the adult pool in Flora 2, you get to it from an underpass and it is really quiet. We are not great sunbathers but I like to have a swim then dry off in the sun and this lets you do this.

I can't comment on the food as we think going All Inclusive in Lanzarote is a waste, this isn't a reflection on the catering standards just our thing.

There have been some negative comments re these apartments which I think is a shame. You pay for what you get and in the case of Flora you get more than your moneys worth.

It takes about 5 minutes to get to the port area with a great array of shops and restuarants and maybe 10 to get back....the hill is very steep. I gave up on the heels after night one when I nearly broke my ankle.

If you want somewhere that is going to be a good base for a holiday then this is the place to stay. There is good parking if you want to hire a car and buses that take you all around the island as well as easy access to a nice coastal walk to Puerto Calero. If you want somewhere that you are not going to stray to far from then I think you will be disapointed, but Lanzarote is an island to explore and enjoy...this was our 9th visit so hopefully that tells you something about the place.

Agree with other posts regarding the taxi. Much easier and there is a rank just along from the apartments so you can jump a taxi back to the airport or if you want taken anywhere else. I also agree that if you have problems walking then it might not be the best place to stay due to the hill, it is a killer....on saying that though I was struggling up and was overtaken by someone with 2 walking sticks so maybe I'm just very unfit!!!

We've stayed in different places in Lanzarote but in future this will be our first choice.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool area will not be peaceful during the day or night so if you don't wan...

“Great for a cheap week in the sun - but could be better!”

This is our first time to Lanzarotte and we really enjoyed our trip. The weather for the week was fab for the time of year, although a bit cloudy and cold in the evenings.

The hotel is only a 10-15min drive from the airport and I would recommend getting a taxi for 15-20 euros. Definitely consider renting a car from the airport at a cost of around 80 euros for the week, great value for money and will allow you to get the most out of the island in addition to the transfers. There is ample parking near the hotel, although I am unsure if this is chargable or not!

The hotel is positioned about a 5-10 min walk away from the old town, and the new town is around 15-20mins walk. The hotel is situated on a hill, which I would descibe as a gradual incline - the knackering part is that is up hill all the way! There are plenty of taxis around, but condiser taking the bus which stops right outside the hotel and is much cheaper!

The hotel itself is clean and presentable with lots of well maintained gardens and a lovely lagoon shaped pool with ample loungers. There is also a sea view from the pool so would recommend trying to get an appartment facing the pool if possible. Our appartment was at the front of the hotel, which is a main road and was quite noisy with numerous refuse trucks collecting every morning! It didn't really disturb us too much, but something to consider. The appartment was clean, spacious and comfortable, although the furniture is very tired. There is ample self-catering facilities with a microwave, 2 ring hob and a fridge, along with the usual pans, crockery etc etc. Bear in mind they don't do double beds - not the most romantic! Also you have to pay extra for the TV and a hairdryer!

We went all-inclusive for this trip, and have been AI to similar resorts in the past. However we weren't very pleased with the quality of food this time around. I must admit there was a wide variety of food available, but for us the food wasn't flavourful, and particularly the meat dishes lacked in quality. We always found something we could eat and there was always a great range of salads, but never really enjoyed our meals. It is such a shame as there are so many beautiful resturants in the nearby old town alone! I think if we come to lanzarotte again we will go self catering.

The age range of guests was mostly 50+, but this is probably down to the time of year. Nightlife is mainly based in the new town, and there is a real emphasis on bars with live music. A lot of the bands were great! The hotel entertainment on the whole was pretty poor. They did offer a flamingo dancing night and a 'Rat Pack' tribute night, but these only lasted around 40mins. For the remainder of the time they didn't play any music around the bar and didn't even bother with the usual quiz/bingo/kareoke. The seating was also outdoors which wasn't great for the cold January evenings - a lot of people had their coats on! Definitely a better atmosphere elsewhere.

Also just a quick comment on service. The reception team was really friendly and helpful but the bar and restaurant staff were the most miserable and uninterested I have ever come accross.

All in all, the hotel was a good base and a holiday is what you make it. But only book it if it's a great deal as there are loads of other hotels closer to the action.

Room Tip: Facing the pool will give you both a pool and sea view and you will have sun all day.

“Everything great but food could be better”

Just returned last week and overall really enjoyed it. This was the 2nd time we have been there the last time being 10 years ago when we took our kids. The complex suites families and couples and is in a lovely position up Calle Reina Sofia, with great views over the bay from the main pool and terrace, but might be unsuitable to those with walking disabilities. But on saying that myself and hubby are both totally unfit & after the 2nd time of going up and down the hill got easier and easier. We ended walking loads on this holiday which we never do, think that little hill got our legs going again. You can always get a taxi, which are cheap. Takes 10 mins to walk down to the old town, where there is a small beach, the main beach is another 5/10 mins. The Complex & gardens are kept really well. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The apartment itself was clean spacious with a bedroom, bathroom (with bath) lounge, kitchenette and dining area. The beds were really comfy and the the water pressure was great in the shower. Rented the tv for a week which had kids, sports and some sky channels.
We opted for all inclusive as we got a reallly good deal. The drinks were good but the food let it down a bit. I know the chefs have to cater for all nationallities, but the were some weird combinations offered. But must admit always found something appetising even if was a nice salad with meat or fish. There was normally pasta dishes on offer as well as a fish dishes, rice dish and meaty dishes, chips/saute and sometimes veggies, Always a good salad selection. Some nights they offered a speciallity dish. You might have trouble if you have really fussy kids as there was normally only one real kids dish ie. fish fingers, chicken dippers of burgers etc. but they'd like the puddings, and always fresh fruit offered.
Over all would go back and would recomend

Room Tip: If you ask for an 1st floor room over looking the main pool, you get great views, but could be a lit...
