“Loved the place.”

Stayed at Plaza Azul in June last year and was very impressed with both the place and the staff. I had got a very good deal on the price so wasn't expecting much but was plesently surprised. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well laid out, cleaners came in regulary and everyone was very plesent and helpfull. Will go back again.

“Excellent Value”

Arrived 4.30 pm met by friendly staff in reception.Unpacked just in time for happy hour at poolside bar.Two pints San Miguel E2.50. Apartment very good (17B) bit on the small side with very good patio at the front, and Terrace at the rear with sun beds table and chairs. Patio at the front limited for sun but terrace at rear full sun from 12.30 pm sheltered from wind and superb views.
Kitchen area fully equipped with toaster microwave etc ideal for a self catering break.Whole complex spotlessly clean and apartment cleaned on a regular basis. My only gripe was the mattress and pillows very hard not suitable for me but ok for someone else
Could be a slite problem for people with walking difficulties as down hill to seafront (10 minuets) but on return part of road up steep hill. I am lazy by nature and did not find it a problem. Taxis plentiful and very cheap E2.50 from beach to apartment.

John & Sue in Torquay.

Room Tip: Room 17b excellent position quite and peaceful

Just got back from these wonderfull aptmnts. What a great place to stay. The staff are absoluitly great.Nothing to much trouble.Great location if you can manage the step hill on the way back from the strip, not to bad really. The few bars round them are fantastic, great food great entertainment.these aptments also put on a great barbacue, karioke and also a live reptile show.If like me you dident like snakes etc the two guys that do the show are brillliant, dont force you t do anything, all i can say is never thought i would ever touch a snake, what a surrpries i got.We stayed in aptment 17b Had a patio outside the front and one at the back. The one at the back had grear wiews of the sea, also had sun beds so dident have to grab a sunded at the pool bonus.Whilst we were therethe were changing the old tvs for new flat screen ones.We were not due to be changed till the day we were leaving, one word to the lovely man who was changing them and we had our flatscreen one week early within 5 min of asking.Nothing to much touble for any of the staff here.hello to marcos the barman, great guy so much fun.Hope to see you all again soon.10 min from airport.10 min from rancho texas the zoo. What a great experiance.Allin all had great time.Hope to go back soon.

Room Tip: try for aptnt 17b.great weivs of the sea.

“Good apartments overall!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

My mum & I stayed in the Plaza Azul 16 Jan 12 for 7 nights. We arrived at around 8pm on Sunday night and didn't think much of the welcome - we were only given vague directions to our room. It took us a good few minutes to find our room and then I couldn't open the door with the key! Eventually someone came - we had got the right room but the lock was just VERY stiff! We had room B25 which didn't have a pool view. And unfort we didn't get any sun at all onto our terrace. I did ask to change rooms but was told no others were available. Maybe I should have insisted as other people were able to change rooms during our stay.... The apartment itself was a lot smaller than I imagined but spotless inside. The whole complex is kept very clean & tidy.

We sat by the pool a few days although we found it was quite windy - it was a bit more sheltered once you went down the hill into the resort. The view from the roof terrace is lovely!

The entertainment was pretty low-key (karaoke on a couple of the nights, and an Elvis impersonator) but fine for us. Marco, the barman, was the real star of the Plaza Azul. He kept everyone happy & was great fun! We didn't eat at the restaurant, just had some toasties from the pool snack bar.

On our last night, a group of about 20 teenagers arrived just for the 1 night. They were staying in all the apartments around us, and the noise was awful! My mum went and complained to the receptionist who followed her back up to hear the noise and then didn't seem to do anything about it! Luckily I had ear plugs with me so was able to get to sleep, but my mum was kept awake into the early morning.. :( At least it was only for 1 night!

We wanted to go to Rancho Texas one day but had missed the free bus that takes you there. I asked at the reception how to get there and they were very helpful and booked us a taxi for only 4 euros.

I think we would stay there again as overall it was very pleasant - we would just try and book a pool view room that gets some sun during the day!

Room Tip: Not B25 - no sun at all :(

“Plaza Azul - a great place to stay”

I read with utter disbelief the "Aoife M" account of the stay at Plaza Azul. My family has stayed here 7 times so far, we come to Lanzarote every year.We have NEVER experienced what has been stated, ALL the staff are extremely friendly and the site is ALWAYS clean. The cleaning staff are forever cleaning the apartments, and during our last stay of 14 days there were only 2 days when our apartment wasn't cleaned, one of which was at our request. We are currently in the process of booking this years holiday at Plaza Azul, If the owners wish to contact us regarding the excellent service we have received at Plaza Azul we will be happy to oblige them.

Room Tip: Rooms below the sun Terrace A13-A18 The best room for Sun and Panoramic View of PDC is A12
