“Never Again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Having just returned Feb 9th 2012 I thought write a review, this is my personal thought and you might agree or not,the complex has most definatly passed its sell by date and needs a refurb.,
The bathroom looks nothing like the brochure where it shows a walk in shower, they do not its a shower over the bath, however there is plenty of hot water, plaster in parts was coming away from the ceiling. the towels were wafer thin , i have sent better to the charity shops, and we had the resident ants.
The bedroom had 2 single beds, single pillows, sheet banket and bedspread, whick looked like a pair of dirty old curtains cut to suit the bed, there were spare blankets(thank god) cupboard space was fair, the bedding was not changed whilst we were there.the room was on the lower level backing onto the road , evey morning we had the dustcarts and delivery vans so we had to sleep with the window closed.
The kitchen area, cupbards that had ill fitting doors, kettle and toaster were included, fridge was dirty and rusty, however it did work(in a fashion) hob, sink and resident ants(plenty of them) and 1 t towel unchanged all week.
lounge had settee and chair, tv 1 euro for 40 mins, patio had table and three chairs.
Reception was clean and one of the receptionists was ignorant and not very helpfull, the other was better.
We did not use the bar, nor the happy hour, pool looked clean and was cleaned daily more than i can say for the apartment , which on the whole was pretty poor. took all of 5 mins to clean.
The resort was fair, plenty of eating houses, we favored PINOCHIOS which served good food at a resonable price, electrical shops and tat shops in abundance. beach nice and clean.good supermarket 100 yds down the road which sold just about everthing.
would i return, the resort maybe, the complex definatly NO.

“Great value for what you pay!”

This was our first getaway with our 6month yearold daughter and we had everything we needed within the hotel and local shops within 5 minutes walking distance. The rooms could do with a little tlc and quite alot of ants in the bathroom but we not going to moan too much because you get what you pay for. The beach and strip is 5 min walk down the hill with plenty of choice too choose from, lovely scenery and clean prominarde. The pool bar is fun with tasty bar meals all day and two happy hours which you'll be informed about by the loud and cheerful barman.

“Lovely pool area immaculatey kept”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We stayed at Plaza Palmeras end of Jan 2012.
Days were generally sunny but nights were cool and our apartment was pretty chilly!! We did not face the sun and therefore did not benefit from the 'solar' central heating. There are spare blankets in the wardrobe.
Pool area very pleasant and so well kept -it really was immaculate, someone was working hard on a daily basis.Cats- nice little prescence.

The apartments are a little jaded and need an upgrade, the green towels they provide are thin and poor quality. You have to pay 1 euro for 40 mins tv which seems a bit mean.Everything looked a bit worn and well used.

LOts of hot water daily. Reasonable priced internet access in reception. The receptionists themselves were a bit lacklustre...did what they had to, but generally not over interested.

Happy hour in the bar was good value and the Bar B Q at 9 euros for all you can eat was lovely.Pork/chicken/kebabs/salad/chips/potato/- a lovely tomato soup to start with and nice choc icecream to finish. Ali the bar tender was rather enthusiastic and bubbly but somehow people staying at the apartments did nt use their own bar which was a great shame. The owners need to really give the bar area a clean up and refurb as it lacks comfort -is bare and unwelcoming, totally mismatched with a bit of tinsel left from xmas here and there, a few flags, bright electric fans and loud R n B.No entertainment we noticed ?It was freezing cold in there which did nt help. I think a bit of effort and thought and you could have a good trade here.

Good position for the seafront - down the hill- you pass Spinnakers Bar which is above a supermarket-good food, nice welcome, and music every night of all different genre's- give it a try- we did and kept going back!
Enjoy Lanzarote its got somthing for every one but these apartments are 2 star and thats what you get !

Room Tip: ask to have apartment facing the afternoon sun - i wish we had!

Me my girlfriend my sister brother and law and nephew stayed here for a week in january 2012. Upon arrival it was all very efficient quick check in and straigh to the rooms. the rooms are clean and tidy. The maid service is 5 times a week towels changed 3 times a week. The partments are very basic as you would expect for the price you get them at but they are spacious with good balcony space as well.
The pool area is very large compared to what it looks like in the brochure. its a 5 min walk to the beach and all the main strip i dont have any complaints about this hotel at all its cheap and basic but does its job i will prob stay here again next january.

Room Tip: the rooms on the far side of the complex facing on to you when you leave reception get the sun all d...

“Can it get much worse ?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at these apartments over a period of years, and they haven't changed one bit. They are also known as Las Palmeras Apartments. They are basic and a decent size. The kitchen now has a modern kettle and toaster and the usual 2 ring cooker, fridge and pay TV. They are desperately in need of TLC and used to be cleaned well but this year because of the rusty fridge, ants, doors which we had difficulty opening and closing, we changed rooms twice and missed the maids. Eventually we asked for clean towels on the 4th day.

The pool is cleaned regularly in the mornings and the pool itself looks very clean but this year it was amusing to see people putting towels on the umbrellas in order to reserve space for the sunbeds when they are unlocked at 9.00am. Quite unecessary as there is plenty of space around the pool. The sun beds are very uncomfortable. The entertainment is limited but the guys that run the bar are friendly and have happy hour at least twice a day.

The apartments themselves are located up a hill as a lot of apartments are from the main town area and beach front. The promenade has recently been improved and now looks even better with a cycle track and plenty of room to walk in the evening. The bars/restaurants are varied with all sorts of food available for choice, they also seemed to look better and there is not so many leaflets/litter floating around.

These apartments are conveniently located and basic and if you enjoy relaxing by the pool during the day and enjoy drinks and a meal in the evening, they are ideal. A real mixture of people staying here, including families, teenagers looking for a good time and more mature couples. They are about 15 minutes from the airport and the taxi cost 13 euros which can't be bad.

As for returning - NO NO NO. We love Lanzarotte and PDC but there must be some better.apartments with a nice pool area?
