“Cheap and cheerful”

The hotel was situation not too far from the airport and near a few shops and the beach. The surrounding area was lovely and the complexs itself has everything to offer. The reception staff were very helpful and check in was no fuss. The room was very spacious and it was cleaned regularly. We stayed a week and the all inclusive package was a good deal for the money, the one down fall was the plastic cups...no glasses and there is only one bar by the pool where the kids hung out. However, there were other pools which offered quieter sunbathing. The bar staff were great and very friendly if treated with respect and I say that because some british holiday makers can be rude. The food was varied and not too bad. You could walk to the harbour but it is a fair walk, although the taxi's are reasonable. Overall a great cheap holiday and great for kids.

“Very very happy with hotel”

Just back from a 5 day break to the don fully inclusive. We travelled with 10 friends who went last year and recommended it. However, after reading some reviews in was a little worried. I travelled with my husband and little girl aged 5. We travelled by Ryan air and therefore had to get a taxi to hotel. It was fine, so cheap only 10 euro plus no waiting on buses etc to go to hotel. When we arrived it th reception was busy and only had 1 guy dealing with us all but he tried his best. We got rooms together beside my friends and it was beside the pool. Went straight to the restaurant which was massive and so so clean, the food was good. Remember you are in Spain so it does taste and look different! Nevertheless it was really good and had lots of choice. In the morning breakfast was the great, fruit, cooked breakfast, cereals etc. Again, restaurant was spotless. The outside pools was closed off but far too cold to go in anyhow. The bar was good, although the token thing for drinks was a pain at first, you get used to it and saves glasses lying everywhere. The hotel was brilliant value and I can't wait to go back some point this year.

“january holiday self catering”

We went here as a family of 4. 2 adults 1 child and 1 infant.
upon the arrival to the hotel we did get a bit of a shock at all the derelict ground to the front of the building, so are first thoughts were very much along the lines of "oh no what have we booked"
bare in mind the type of country it is, so you wont see much grass! But it was a pleasant surprise once you walked into reception with nice features and granite floors!. the receptionist was a little obnoxious and probably needed some lessons in customer communication, as she didn't inform us of; where the beach was, where the complex shop was , or the bar, as she said was how to get to our room! so when she gave us a map we hung onto it!! in fact she was quite useless unless you were checking in or out. the night porter appeared to by similar to her.
there are ALOT of apartments so make sure you remember the way around because they are split up into sections with their own pools, so it all looks the same! its very secure and the gates are locked on a night, so after a certain time you have to ring the buzzer to get in.
The bedrooms were more than sufficient with ample room and spacious wardrobes.
The bathroom was clean and tidy with a powerful shower!
The lounge, the sofa bed was a bit hard but manageable. If you want to watch TV its 3 euro per day and if you want a remote (you have to cos they removed the buttons from our TV!!!) then its a 10euro deposit and 2 euro per day.
The kitchen... if you plan on going self catering, i can tell you now, you get a kettle, a fridge and 2 hobs....very hard to cook with a family of 4 so be prepared to eat out quite alot.
plenty of restaurants, bars and shops 5 mins from the apartment.(so is the beach)
We would highly recommend the Waikiki bar, lovely food and the owners and staff are very pleasant and the food is excellent! especially the fajitas and the lasagne! ...also try paddy's paradise, its owned by the same people.
The cleaners didnt really have a timetable, sometimes they came two days in a row then you wouldnt see them for 2 days!
Its definitely worth the 1hours walked to puerto del carmen old town, with lovely views and nice cafes on the way!
if you walk in the other direction you can go to Matagorda, which has a nice cafe/bar called Aussies on the way. takes about 20mins from the apartments out the front door.
if you planning a winter trip, the pool isn't heated, its so cold its beyond words!
we would return again, but with having children we would probably go in summer so they could use the pool the you dont have to go out everyday to entertain them!
over all, it was a nice holiday!

My wife and myself have just returned from a week all inclusive in the don paco and what a lovely week we had. Can't see how or why people would complain about this hotel. Room consisted of sitting room, kitchen and bedroom with balcony looking over the main pool. What more do you need. it was cleaned 5 days out of 7 with towels and sheets changed. food was served as a buffet and was plentiful - eat as much or as little as you want. main meal at night was particularly good with a chef cutting either roast beef, roast turkey, roast lamb, chicken escalope, tuna etc - different every day. drinks were also plentiful and covered all types. Staff in both restaurant and bar couldn't be more helpful. the complex has its own supermarket, hairdresser, souvenir shop and is literally a few minutes walk to shops, pubs and the main beach. defo will return to this hotel and lanzarote.

Room Tip: ground floor rooms around all 4 pools have patio access which is really handy.
