We went here as a family of 4. 2 adults 1 child and 1 infant.
upon the arrival to the hotel we did get a bit of a shock at all the derelict ground to the front of the building, so are first thoughts were very much along the lines of "oh no what have we booked"
bare in mind the type of country it is, so you wont see much grass! But it was a pleasant surprise once you walked into reception with nice features and granite floors!. the receptionist was a little obnoxious and probably needed some lessons in customer communication, as she didn't inform us of; where the beach was, where the complex shop was , or the bar, as she said was how to get to our room! so when she gave us a map we hung onto it!! in fact she was quite useless unless you were checking in or out. the night porter appeared to by similar to her.
there are ALOT of apartments so make sure you remember the way around because they are split up into sections with their own pools, so it all looks the same! its very secure and the gates are locked on a night, so after a certain time you have to ring the buzzer to get in.
The bedrooms were more than sufficient with ample room and spacious wardrobes.
The bathroom was clean and tidy with a powerful shower!
The lounge, the sofa bed was a bit hard but manageable. If you want to watch TV its 3 euro per day and if you want a remote (you have to cos they removed the buttons from our TV!!!) then its a 10euro deposit and 2 euro per day.
The kitchen... if you plan on going self catering, i can tell you now, you get a kettle, a fridge and 2 hobs....very hard to cook with a family of 4 so be prepared to eat out quite alot.
plenty of restaurants, bars and shops 5 mins from the apartment.(so is the beach)
We would highly recommend the Waikiki bar, lovely food and the owners and staff are very pleasant and the food is excellent! especially the fajitas and the lasagne! ...also try paddy's paradise, its owned by the same people.
The cleaners didnt really have a timetable, sometimes they came two days in a row then you wouldnt see them for 2 days!
Its definitely worth the 1hours walked to puerto del carmen old town, with lovely views and nice cafes on the way!
if you walk in the other direction you can go to Matagorda, which has a nice cafe/bar called Aussies on the way. takes about 20mins from the apartments out the front door.
if you planning a winter trip, the pool isn't heated, its so cold its beyond words!
we would return again, but with having children we would probably go in summer so they could use the pool the you dont have to go out everyday to entertain them!
over all, it was a nice holiday!
