“Will be back!”

Me and my boyfriend stayed at these apartments for 2weeks in September 2011. We had no complaints at all. Food was excellent and staff couldn't have been any nicer to you and nothing was too much trouble for them! For the people who are complaining I think they need to take into account the price , you get what you pay for and I think these people are expecting top nosh food for a fraction of the price. When I went all inclusive I was not expecting to eat in the hotel a lot but we ended up having dinner in the hotel most nights because of the vast choice and the sauces that went with the meats were delicious! We mainly went all inclusive to save on drinks. The apartments are cleaned every day and yes some of the furniture could be in better condition but who is in there apartment alot while on holiday anyway! The location might not suit everyone as it is based in the old town as opposed to the strip but the strip is a 10 min walk away which suited us perfectly. Will definately return this year . Great holiday!

“perfect location fabulous view”

2 minutes walk to the harbour and 10 minute walk to the beach. apartments very clean, separate bedroom, sitting room with couch, small kitchen area with table and chairs. basic but clean but would go back cause location just perfect. get room 325/6/7/8 gives you a perfect view. these rooms give you a patio, the floor above is a balony where the view is probably even better. stayed 1 jan for week. previously stayed in 4 star £150 more expensive and no real difference. clean, basic, good location, 5 minutes to big shopping centre, 20 min walk to main strip with the irish bars and the restraunts on the cliff top

Room Tip: all rooms facing the sea, room 326 was perfect with nothing obstructing the view. rooms have one bed...

“Nice location and outside areas, shame about the apartments.......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

My partner and myself stayed here in early January 2012 and they are cheap budget apartments - quite good value I suppose.

The good points are that they are in a fantastic location, if like us, you like the old town/harbour end of PDC rather than the strip end/new town. They are just up the street to the harbour and old town area - a 2 minute walk . Also the outside areas, pool, gardens etc. are well kept and nice and the pool is quite large although as some have said it is unheated and the majority of it is very deep. The pool bar and main bar areas seem ok but there never seemed to be that many in the main bar when we were there. We don't know about the entertainment as we never went in on a night as there are loads of good bars and entertainment in PDC anyway.

The staff that we met also seemed ok and helpful but on checking in we weren't told that the water in the apartments had been turned off due to work going on and after getting to the apartment had to go back to reception to see why. We were told that "yes water is off at the moment but it will be back on soon and then we will all have water to share!" Thats all fine and dandy but when the water is off for around a couple of hours from when we got there and you can't get a shower/wash or anything after travelling from England AND you are not told about it on checking in then it isn't good enough.

Also as stated by other reviewers, there are lots of steps to the apartments depending on which level you are on and there are no lifts. We counted about 91 steps to get to our apartments including the steps at the front of the main street entrance to the Aquarius and we weren't on the top level. If you have walking problems or are not fit then these apartments are not good - it can get a bit of a bind every day up and down especially if you are on the top level. It is also not good getting your luggage up and down.

I knew before going that the apartments were dated but for the price paid you expect basic, you cannot expect modern interiors but it was fairly shabby in parts and you at least expect things to work whatever you pay. The TV buttons were broken and would not work properly, you couldn't get a bath as the plug was missing but there wouldn't have been enough water for one anyhow as each apartment apparently has its own water heater and after one person has had a shower it often runs cold and so nobody else can get one for a while - which is not what you need on holiday. The fridge was very rusty and broken and the sideboard/cabinet which contained your cutlery had had its day, falling to bits and smelled fusty inside. We had to really wash the cutlery well before using. Also for about the last 5 days we had no light in the bathroom as it seemed the bulb had gone and so had to get showered etc. in the dark even though the cleaners should have noticed it (unless they can clean the bathroom in virtual darkness) as there is no window in the bathroom so no natural light in there even during the day - so sort of proves my points below about cleaning being sub-standard. The light was not fixed - we did not report it as we believed the cleaners would report it as they had to use it to clean etc. and they did come in most days but it never was.

The apartments were not particularly well cleaned even on changeover - I would say they were superficially cleaned - just sweep floors and clean around everything. We did find the bed sheets were clean and the beds were comfortable though. We went for ten nights and for some peculiar reason our towels were only changed on our last day - seems a bit pointless by then.

The apartments are far enough from the harbour for some peace and quiet and were fine for sleeping without noise. There also did not seem to be any rowdy stag groups/young groups when we were there causing havoc - just families/couples and mostly seemed to be Brits and a few Germans.

All in all not a bad complex in a good location, which is the main reason we booked it, but let down by the state of the apartments. With a few apartment repairs/upgrade, better cleaning and a lift they would be very good so at present I only rate them as average.

I would only go again to these apartments if I had to keep to a tight budget and couldn't find anywhere better for the money in the harbour area but whatever I paid I would expect to get certain clean basic standards with as much hot water as you need and where things actually work. If you are prepared to "rough it" a bit for a cheap deal in the sun in an ideal location then it's ok - just don't stay for too long!

“Rubbish, Boring, Rubbish”

Stayed here for 12 nights in January with my partner and 2 children. On arrival staff was friendly and polite and showed us where restaurant ect was, apartment was very clean and very equipped had fridge, toaster, kettle ironing board and iron needs a little updating but it's ok. The water is brown and stinks but after couple of days seems to go a little better
Food was ok, but gets boring, we stayed all inclusive but wish we went self catering as we spend most time out, this place is not for families there was no entertainment , they advertised a dancing show one night at 9:30 so my daughter was excited all day, 9:30 came and no dancers, my partner asked why and they said not enough people in !! That was the last time we eaten or sat in there, this place could be better with good entertainment on in evening, i will never ever go back here as we was all bored even going out there is nothing to do for families at all.
