I stayed in the Portonovo Complex twice now, in 2010 and 2009. We stayed in Apartment 111. The complex was, from my understanding, owned by a travel group before all the apartments were sold to individual private owners. So some of them have been renovated, including this apartment.

Apartment 111 was owned by an Irish couple who have made the apartment a real 'home from home'. We found it very well decorated and very comfortable. Really homely, comfortable and warm. It has its own private balcony which overlooked the sea, and was in a quiet part of Puerto Del Carmen (the old town) so it wasn't very hectic.

It had anything you could ever need for a self catering holiday - a fully setup kitchen with all mod-cons so it was perfect for cooking in. It had one bedroom, one bathroom, and a pullout bed in the sitting area. The apartment has a number of books, DVDs & Magazines available for renters, which came in useful. For those sitting in relaxing, the apartment also offered us satellite TV with lots of channels (mostly in English). It had its own private balcony which overlooked the private pool and the bay.

The complex itself is mostly privately owned and many of the owners live there, so its nice and quiet. A nice big pool, a private bar (closes early in the evening), and lots of sun loungers. Its within walking distance from pubs, restaurants, and the harbour.

All in all, a lovely apartment and a great area. Would highly recommend it to couples of all ages. We thought it catered for everyone anyway.
