Stayed here on way back to England having driven 500 miles from the Provence and was very disappointed with the room. Other than clean sheets and bedding the room stank and every crevice or joint on the floor was blackened with age old dirt. I had to wipe my feet on a towel before getting into bed. There were also a number of what I would call "dodgy characters" residing in a number of the rooms who were up until all hours drinking and making noise. The area itself appears to be an overnight stop for lorry/coach drivers. Staff were excellent but this place.....never again!

The other reviews I have read on this site are clearly out of date. The room in which we stayed had undergone a complete makeover: white duvet on the bed, new parquet flooring (could have been better finished, however), and our room's walls had been freshly painted. A large flat-screen TV had been installed - handy for watching the World Cup - and I had free wifi access for my laptop and iPhone. The staff were friendly and efficient, and my wife and I enjoyed a good meal in the restaurant. A wedding party was holding a reception here when we arrived in the afternoon - which is a good recommendation in itself. We'll use this hotel again for a stopover. It's up to the standard that I expect of Campanile hotels.

I would never go back to this hotel. I realize that campanile brand is a two star one. But not later than a week before I had been to a campanile hotel in another part of France and it was great.
This one in Reims/Taissy has: old furniture, the toilet which practically doesn't flush, extra uncomfortable beds and in the middle of the night we were woken up by a terrible sound of water-pipes. It was just a next door neighbour who was trying to take a shower.
After this night when we couldn't really sleep, I was no longer surprised that the reception guy called our room phone at 11 pm asking for the credit card number as a guarantee or better pay in advance.
Perhaps they had some cases of people who left without payment?
