Stayed just the 1 night in this lovely hotel Nice Atmospher and friendly staff. it has 20 rooms all of which are situated in a converted stable block just to the rear of the hotel. Room was clean tidy and tastefully decorated. Good powerful shower. Tea making facilities in the room. Only complaint was that the window in the room would not open so it got a bit stuffy over night. The bed was comfy and all in all good value for money. We had breakfast the next morning and once again a decent breakfast which was cooked to order so not sitting under a hot lamp waiting to be served up.
Will use again when in the area.

We have just spent 2 nights at the Elm Hotel. With a Wedding Party.

We checked in on Friday afternoon, we received a warm welcome from very helpful staff.

Our room was situated in the Newly refurbished Stable block., we had a double room with ensuite bathroom, with bath and overhead shower.
Also in the room there was a flat screen tv, tea making facilities and hairdryer.

The room was nicely decorated, clean and really warm, which was appreciated at it was windy outside.
Also there was information regarding how to get to different places nearby, including Doctors, Hospital, Asda or local attractions.

We dined in the resturant for Friday's evening meal. We had a choice off their extensive menu which included selected 2 for £10 offers. The food was hot, well presented and cooked how you requested it. We had people in our party who have special dietry requirements, and these were catered for. Nothing was too much trouble.

We also had breakfast twice in the resturant, this was good value.

We attended the Wedding reception in the Function room on the Saturday, this was a fantastic evening, again the staff could'nt do enough for you.

The only thing we could fault was the rooms were really warm, even when the heating was off.

The beds were really Comfy and inviting.

Stopped here looking for a room after a long drive. The pleasant receptionist took my booking and directed me to me room. Wasn't sure what to expect with a severe lack of outside lighting but I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the door to my room in the converted stable block. It was clear the room has been recently done up with nice TV lovely, decor and a fantastic shower. Just made in time before the restaurant shut, but was told to take my time and when my steak arrived was very satisfied. Unfortunatley I had to leave before breakfast started but will definately stay here again if passing through Retford.

Stayed here the stables has been renovated and everything was clean tidy and worth the money those who have given bad reviews its worth another look at will come back
