We planned to stopover at Dijon, on our journey to the South of France, and Dijon seemed the right point to do so, Our booking with Accor was as usual, simple online. Using our satnav we located the hotel with relative ease, however at night it was difficult to physically locate other than driving past and turning around - they could do with a sign to indicate how to turn left at their junction, as the 'roundabout' surrounded the road, difficult to explain. Once in their car park - in front of the hotel, parking was easy on a Friday night - this seems primarily a business hotel, so most clients had gone home. Booking in was a simple act, they had all prepared for us, and this took no more than 5 minutes, pleasing after a 4 hour drive and after a day's work.
Our room was reasonably spacious, with the new IBIS beds, kingsize and with duvets - this allowed a good night's sleep.
The restaurant in this hotel is not designed for the gourmet traveller, but like us, people who needed a wholseome evening meal. I was saddened about the wine list, most was generally available French wine, except for one local one, his just happened to be the most expensive wine on their list too. For a hotel within a wine region, I think they could have done better.
Booking out was also simple, however I would note that our single course meal and a few glasses of wine doubled the overall bill. Lastly, I must add, the staff were very friendly and would offer help at any point.
To sum up, yes I would stay there again, but only if I were on route, so for an overnight stay, and don't expect to have dining requests other than standard French cuisine fulfilled.
Best regards,
Marcus
