“An average Hotel”

We have stayed here a few times en route to the Alps for New Year. We have always been pleased with the hotel but this year it seemed slightly shabby in comparison to previous years..
Just felt the rooms were not as clean and fresh as could be..
However the staff remain friendly, the parking is secure and easy. Breakfast is very good. Lots of choice with a clean well stocked dinning room.
We went to the local bowling alley / restaurant to eat at night. This is the closest place as the hotel is out of town. There are other places to eat nearby - lots of big chains etc.. We have been to the bowling before as the children really enjoy the evening as a boxing day treat and part of the holiday.
This year the service in the restaurant was not really that good but we still had fun and at the end of the day it is a bowling alley restaurant and no way would you get the same experience in England where it would be plastic cartons and junk food!!
I think next time we will stay elsewhere just for a change but I would still recommend this hotel as a stop over but think they do need to upgrade the rooms soon.

Room Tip: We have had rooms on the ground floor previously over looking the pool. These seemed to be nicer tha...

“Another useful hotel on the way to the Alps”

We (family with 2 young children) spent one night in the hotel on 16 Dec 11, as a stopover on our way to a skiing holiday in the French Alps. Dijon is ideally placed if you want to stop overnight and then have a shorter drive to your resort - allows you to arrive in the resort ahead of the peage, hotel, ski equipment and pass queues. We have stayed at 4 other hotels in Dijon on the way to the Alps, and this one is probably the best value.

Breakfast was available from 7am, staff were friendly and helpful, room was tired but very clean, bathroom has a heated mirror which is great when shaving, beds were comfortable enough, shower was adequate. Heating was the only problem - the room was too hot, and with my children under the window, we could not leave it open all night.

“3 nights in the Novtel, Dijon Sud”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

My wife and I stayed a total of 3 nights in this hotel, 16 and 17 November and 24 November 2011. On the evening of 18 Nov we invited two business contacts to join us for dinner. The meal was satisfactory and the service was good. On 24 November we arrived fairly late at about 10 pm. On the menu in the room it states that the bar menu is available 24 hours a day. This was not the case and all we were able to order from the kitchen was two ham and cheese rolls. This would not have been too bad but, the rolls were of the frozen type which should have been first heated in an oven. Adding insult to injury, the next morning we were charged a total of Euro 27.80 for a snack that was of the lowest possible standard, in fact if we had not been so hungry we would have returned them to the kitchen. This is not the standard or quality I expect from the Novotel. During 2012 business commitments mean I will spend a total of 7 or 8 nights in Dijon. I will expect the Euro 27.80 to credited against the cost of my next stay at your hotel.
We found the staff, with the exception of the kitchen gentleman, to be both friendly and efficient.
I look forward to hearing from you

Yours sincerely

“Novotel Dijon”

I really like Novotel hotels in France, and Novotel Dijon lived up to the chain's reputation.
Perfect accessibility for a motorbiker, secure parking, lovely staff, wonderful food, excellent service.
Close to motorway for fast and easy access.
Fine range of TV channels allows for catchup with international news in French, Italian, English and German.
I just wish Novotel would change it's policy on pets:I object to dogs where I am dining for reasons of hygiene, but I seem to be in a minority--pity!
Bot enough to deter me from staying again though.

“Excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

Very very disappointed in the fact I could not enjoy my dinner under such a beautiful blue sky since I was told it might rain and actually didn't for next 48 hours.
Had to resign myself to eat inside to realise that the menu was identical to the room service menu.
Much different in other Novotels
