We stopped at this Hotel as an overnight stop on the way back home. It is conveniently positioned for easy access to the port. about 10 minutes away. Hotel is reasonable value for France. But we did have some issues.
We ate in the restaurant and each had the rump steak, both medium. One was done to perfection, the other was inedible. The meat was just one lump of gristle and sinew. Pointed out, but it still stayed on the bill.
Room was clean and the bed great. However there cannot be any sound proofing between the bedrooms at all. You can hear normal conversations from the rooms either side and from above, Toilets flushing at all time during the night and someone snoring throughout the night could be heard as if it was in the some room as us !!. Not the best nights sleep was had. Breakfast was ok. Continental all you can eat.

This was a good example of the Campanile product: clean, basic but comfortable with a nice restaurant. The staff were extemely pleasant and helpful and also English speakers. Very convenient location for us to catch the cross channel ferry the next morning from Cherbourg. There was a French strike in the morning but because of where the hotel was located we avoided any problems.

Stayed here for a night before getting the ferry to rosslare.Needed a hotel with parking as we had a van so chose to stay slightly out of town. It is possible to walk into cherbourg but coming back its a steep walk uphill.
Staff in the hotel were friendly , rooms were basic but free wifi and tea/ coffee were a nice touch. We ate in the restaurant and food was surprisingly good and great value. Overall hotel is ok you get what you pay for - no luxury but basic and clean.

As a disabled person using a wheelchair, it was obvious that work had been done to eliminate steps from car park to hotel room. What a pity they couldn't have thought that a disabled person might like a meal as there remained a step into the restaurant which meant that my husband had to lift me up and down on entry and exit - sometimes with assistance from passers by or restaurant staff. Just a little lateral thinking or someone trying to get around in a wheelchair would have noticed this immediately. Sadly it needs the legislation to drive the point home but I'm sure they'll get there in the end!

By the way, we found the restaurant good and regarding the other reviewer that had problems, I would say if you like welldone steaks, don't try to order one in France because they invariably cook them on the rare side as they can't believe that anyone could like them any other way!
