I stayed here for 4 nights in August with my sister. The hotel is very clean, with reasonable size rooms and bathroom, which again are very clean. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. There is also free wi-fi in the rooms. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the shopping centre 'Baricentro' which is open 10am-10pm, and has a supermarket inside as well as some other shops and Mcdonalds. My sister and I didnt have a car, but found it fairly easy to get to the hotel once we knew where we going. The staff at the train station were helpful, the only problem we had was finding someone that understood where we said we needed to get to. Also the tourist information at the airport didnt give us full instructions. You are able to get the train to the hotel from the airport, but you need to change trains which we werent told. You get the train to Sants Estacio, and from there you are able to get to Barbera del Valles, ask one of the people at the information points and they will tell you which trains you need to get. On arrival at the Barbere del Valles train station, there is a local bus which will stop at the 'Baricentro' shopping centre. You can see the hotel from this bus stop, it is a couple of minutes walk.
To get into Barcelona, there is a bus stop approx 10 minutes from the hotel, which when we were there cost 2.10 euros for one way. We used the A2 bus. Again, if you ask at the hotel they will tell you where you need to go, although I wouldnt recommend this option with children as you have to walk along a busy road to get to the bus stop. Once in Barcelona, everything is within easy reach via the metro system, which is like the london underground, once you work out the system, you will have no trouble getting around. there are maps available which tell you where the attractions are.
I would recommend visiting the magic fountain (which doesnt run on monday, tuesday, wednesday). which is a fountain which lights and music show, starting at 9pm, really worth seeing. There is a beach which is within walking distance, if you dont mind a bit of a walk. as well as a port with another shopping centre as well as the aqaurium. During my stay i visited Barcelona Zoo. found it to be good value for money.
Overall a very good stay.
This is a hotel located around 20 minutes drive from Barcelona, at the intersection of a number of main highways that run throughout Catalunya. We spent 4 nights here and it's a pleasant place to stay: good-sized room, great bathroom, reasonable prices on bar and food downstairs, free parking, very clean indeed, lovely staff. The only downside to the facilities was poor internet service in reception (which was free but very slow to almost stopped!). We had a very quiet few days and some great sleep!
In terms of where the hotel is, you have to have a car. There's nothing nearby apart from a fairly small (in city terms) shopping mall with few shops of note. The nearest "suburbs" aren't great for visiting, seeming to be quite rundown and without any restaurants etc you would want to use. But for getting to other places quickly this is a great hotel. We visited Tarragona, flew into Reus, went skiing in the mountains at Port del Comte and spent a day in Barcelona city centre and another in Sitges (which was lovely) too. Everything was near because the motorways converge around the hotel area. No real noise from them though, which was excellent.
No restaurants to recommend, which is a shame because we go to Spain for the food as well as everything else. I would recommend that before you go to the Barbera Parc you research some reasonably local suburbs that might have pleasant restaurants and bars to go to, as that would have made our visit better if we'd known places to go.
If you can get it for the price we did (£38 per night for a double room), it's a fantastic bargain for Barcelona.
Low price for a 4 stars, parking and wi-fi included. Not a wonderful location if you don't have a car, but if you have it's perfect for the business area of Santiga. "Baricentro" Mall is at walking distance.
We decided to make a reservation in this hotel to visit Barcelona. It was maybe 30 minutes away from the city and the prizes were really good for a 4 star hotel. (around 65$/night) We took the train to go visit Barcelona and it is not too far from the hotel, maybe a 5 minute drive. The staff was nice and spoke english. The rooms were very big and clean. Also, there is the Baricentro, a huge mall, right next to the hotel so that is really conveinient if you want to grab something to eat. The only thing I could say is that there was this pamphlet in our room that said "free breakfast with the room" but we ended up being charged 14 euros each for it. That was kind of expensive and we wouldn't have taken it if we would have known. But overall, it was a great experience.
