the horror movies!!!
While travelling a lot and not requiring super high standards, some level of comfort is always appreciated when on business trip. However, 'Room 015' in Amilly Campanile managed to be my worst ever travel experience.
Temperatures at day time had been above 35DEG, but the hotel airco system was broken (all rooms). These things can happen, but as a hotel you try to make the experience as tolerable as possible for your guests. Not in the Campanile though :
- no information upaon arrival that they had some issues. When I went back to the reception : "Yes, airco is broken in the whole hotel and it can take a couple of days to repair"
- no compensation what so ever (the evening receptionist said "I could try to negotiate a free breakfast in the morning" ... which is paid by my emplyer anyway)
- when I enetered the room, temperature was 33DEG!!! I managed to drop it to 30DEG when going to sleep. Opening the window is not an option : it is next to a very busy road
- for that breakfast in the morning, there was no bread anymore at 8.30. When asking, they said it could take some time, no further explanation. 15min later they came with a 'fresh bread' (the ones you can buy in the supermarket to pur 15min in your oven)
- they claim to have Wifi in all rooms, but mine was terribly slow (time-out in GMail!!, never had this). When asking in the evening, I got the reply "Oh, it depends on the room, in some rooms it is fast, in some it is very slow". When asking again in the morning : "Is there a problem with internet speed ? We are not aware of this."
- the bathroom shower was spraying water, but leaking at the side also. The bathroom was flooded after my shower
- there was no stop in the sink to fill it for comfortable shaving
You could say the hotel was cheap at 75.5 EUR, but I am not sure if it was worth the money. Such a bad experience, never again!
