“Prefer it if you are visiting theme Park - Average but so are the rest”

I have been travelled to few hill stations, but this was a lot different experience than others. The place is beautiful but the reason u are visiting here is not the mountains and the cold but to stay inside either a casino, shopping mall or the theme park. So make sure u remind urself of that.

We took a taxi from Shangri-la hotel to the base of genting and paid 90MYR , at the base u take the 15 min cable car ride ( easiest and cheapest) to reach genting highland.
The cable car ride from the base to the resort is fun and has good views ( remember u can’t carry luggage in these rides, so either u take a taxi/bus or u deposit them at the counter at the base and they deliver it to your hotel at specific times ( charges 25 RM for 3 set of luggage’s)

All the hotels here are pretty much alike we stayed at Genting resort, which was an average 2 star or may be even 1 star hotel but with clean room and bathrooms. Considering the activities going on here I am sure the rooms are used only to get some sleep. So did not mind them much. The breakfast at the hotel was ordinary and we decided to skip it and have a brunch at many of the restaurants available with in the mall.

The check-in/check out process is easy but I totally believe during peak days at can easily take upto 2 hrs for them. As they have 3 people handling around 300 rooms.

Hotel is right across the theme park but we did not face any noise issue.

You will have to walk a fair distance to reach casinos and shopping mall so be prepared.

Lot of food options available right below the hotel so stuff ur room if u plan to have a little snack party at mid night

Room features – decent beds, small tv, and a working ceiling-fan(yes had to mention this as this is an uncommon things in hotels at Genting;-))

Room Tip: • Buy the special rooms ( just above the base category) to avoid getting cramped • Book online thru...

There are only 2 reasons why one would travel to Genting Highlands - the casino and the theme park. I'm reviewing the hotel here not the casino or the theme park. During school holidays and public holidays, this hotel and the others of the Resorts World Group at Genting Highlands, can be very chaotic and check in and check out times. That said, this particular hotel is for members only i.e. you have to have a Genting World Card. We had 2 rooms - one faced the main road and the other faced the back of the hotel. I was woken up each morning at 5 am by the Muslim call to prayer from the nearby mosque (the room facing the main road). Being cool in the highlands, the rooms do not have air conditioning but have ceiling fans which are more than sufficient. Rooms are comfortable. Though recently renovated in the past 5 years, the rooms are a bit worn due to high turnover rates. Conveniently situated for easy access to theme parks and casinos.

“Marvelous hotel with reasonable rate”

Much nicer hotel room compared to the budget first world and theme park hotel. The design of the room is nice, cosy with nice lighting effect. Very clean. The bathroom is designed nicely with the hidden closet and reachable from the inside of the bathroom.
Redeemed Genting points for my stay. During non peak season or shoulder season, maybe 15 points? or 20+ points. Overall , worth it. The room rate, not too sure. Can check at their website.
Near to Circus Place casino and montecarlo casino. All are linked. Can easily walk to First world, and to star casino.

“Enjoyable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

We visited genting because of its theme park. This is a huge hotel, plenty of rooms and great view of Kulalampur Petronas tower and hill of genting highlands.

We enjoyed the stay. Buffet food was nice and good Indian food was served. Theme parks are just attached to it.

For Children theme park indoor and out door both are nice to enjoy. Great roads are made and also ropeway to reach here.

Hotel has nice rooms, lifts, interior, latest ameneties for a perfect family holiday.

Enjoyed the stay

“Marvelous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

Stayed here for a day with my family and found the place to be too good. Carry your map with you since it is a very huge area and you might easily get lost. The place is well maintained despite the huge inflow of people. Food in the restaurant is awesome but they should have separated one counter from the other since I being a vegan could not tolerate the smell of meat. There are different shows at different timings hence take our own time in exploring the place.
