“The best hotel - hands down!”

We booked this hotel to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and what a celebration it was! The grounds, the staff, the suite, the pool - everything was beyond fabulous! We travel all over the world, and spend 200+ nights a year in hotel rooms, but this had to be the most extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were transported into the "island luxury" mode, and it never disappointed. The special surprise my husband planned was pulled off without a hitch - a private dinner for 2 on the veranda, rose petals and a customized gourmet menu are just a few of the details that the staff were just as excited about as we were. All in all, the Ritz Rose Hall is The most perfect vacation spot.

Room Tip: Every room is beautifully appointed, with a pool or ocean view, but a suite upgrade is truly "s...

“Weekend Get-Away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We just returned from a long weekend to the Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort in Rose Hall, Jamaica. We can't say enough about the service we enjoyed. From the initial meeting at the Montego Airport Ritz-Carlton Lounge, to the champagne greeting at the hotel lobby, to the continued service throughout our stay, the staff of the Ritz-Carlton was superb. To start out, when they learned we were celebrating our anniversary, we were upgraded from an Ocean View room to an Oceanfront Suite. We also received a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room on the day of our anniversary. We enjoyed great meals in all the restaurants. The exercise center was well equipped for a hotel, and constantly attended too. I wanted to wipe down the machines after use, but the staff was already there to do it. We also had a great his-and-her massage at the spa. The beach was fine, but being Jamaica, it was more rocky than some beaches we've visited. But that is the joy of nature. Also, a cab trip in to town was a bit pricey, $35 US one-way. We chose to spend out brief time at the Resort. All in all, we can’t complain at all regarding our stay at the Resort, except that maybe the it was too short.

Room Tip: If you are celebrating a special occasion, let the staff know. They are likely to work all the hard...

“Simply Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

My wife and I were married at the Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall this past November. The wedding was perfect and we were so impressed with the resort. The hotel rooms were well-appointed and comfortable. The resort itself is very well-kept and the facilities are in excellent condition. The beach is small and rocky, but the water is pretty and there are plenty of lounge chairs to enjoy. The pool is a nice size and the pool bar is always happening.

Dining options are limited, but the food is spectacular. We ate at the same restaurant at least 3 times and loved it each time.

The staff are lovely and service is excellent. I would recommend this resort to anyone. We plan to return for our anniversary.

“The White Witch is INCREDIBLE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Golf at the White Witch was probably the most memorable golfing experience our family has ever had. Even better than Wailea on Maui! (OK, so you can't see any whales from this golf course. But it's Jamaica, Mon!) The fairways and greens are fabulous. The course design, (it's up on the mountain, so don't look for many level lies), elevation changes and views are spectacular! The caddies were extremely professional, helpful and FUN! I would never have shot what I did without them. It's not cheap, but any course this beautiful is well worth the price. During our trip to Jamaica, we also golfed at Cinnamon Hill at the Hilton (where we stayed) and Half Moon. This course was tops, with Cinnamon Hill a close second!

“Relaxed and upscale”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We arrived for a 4 night stay as a couple. We were not part of a large corporate group that was there- but the good news was we were hardly aware of their presence. The only tip-off we had was being asked nicely by staff if we were part of "Group X." This is a really lovely property. I had gone on Trip Advisor before we left, and made note of some people thinking this was a dated property. But for us, it was not. The decor is true Plantation style (not faux "trying to be Plantation on the cheap). It was immaculate and our suite was gorgeous. It can't be a cliche to say that the Jamaican people are culturally the most friendly and gracious people around. you can't train this into anyone: every single staff person we encountered was sincerely kind and accommodating. Any season traveler can tell when they are being managed with false graciousness. This is the real deal. We are not huge adventurers: we arrive and we relax. So for us, it was perfect.

We took seats on a small path and relaxed the day away. We decided on the club level and I recommend it highly: continental breakfast, a surprisingly large selection of sandwiches, salads, cheese, fruit etc at lunch, and hot and cold hors d'ouervres at night. Plus perfect tiny desserts at night. We no doubt saved or broke even on the extra club level expense.

We love Hawaii, but this (for us) is four hours closer and every bit the island experience. Our first trip to Jamaica will not be our last.
