“Not a place fore kids!”

The beach was awful. Muddy bottom and it´s more reminiscent of a Swedish boring beach. At the pool, it was a lot of rules that limit children significantly. Poor sunbeds around the pool and unfortunately dirty on the ground. Expensive to get to the finer beaches or to Corfu Town.Large heavy traffikerad street just outside the area. However, it was nice big rooms.

“Great holiday, lovely resort but very strict rules at pool area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011 via mobile

Apartments were spotless, good air conditioning in living room but none in bedroom, so was comfier to sleep on sofas. Very basic kitchen but all you needed if you planned to mostly eat out. Maid service every day with clean linen and towels.
Mini Market had quite a good selection.
Hair drier in bathroom did not work and after we reported it, still wasn't fixed, which was a bit disappointing !
Pool bar a bit expensive for anything other than beer, snacks quite good.
If you have kids, or you are an adult that likes having fun at pool then don't come !!!!! This was the only thing that was really bad at apartments. The blonde, grumpy, never smiled lifeguard, relished in telling people off for using inflatables, diving, moving chairs !!! She was a horror, so on a Sunday and after 5pm, it was fun for everyone as she was off !!!! It was like a pool party when she left !!!
Guests have to complain to company about this, I am certainly going to, cause apparently in govino bay, lifeguards ain't needed after 5 or on a Sunday, pathetic really

But it did not spoil our great holiday !!!

“needs renovation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

the complex is situated in a very convenient location to explore corfu.
The exterior of the hotel it is beautiful..however,
the rooms need renovation..
beds are uncomfortable and old, sofas are ok but mattresses are old.
We travelled with a 1,5 year old baby, and the baby cot was at least 50 years old with a mattress smelling unbearably..we took it out of the room immediately..how could any child sleep in that?
Air conditioning is very good, and kitchen adequately equipped.

“lovely complex.. but not really for families”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

Travelled to Govino bay with husband and 3 children 12,10 and 4. This was a replacement holiday for one in Sidari who's contract was not renewed/cancelled. There are many plus points with this place, we had a lovely spacious apartment with a mezzanine. here there was a bedroom with twin beds, 2 single beds in the mezzanine and a sofa bed in the lounge. Warning to all taller than my 4 year old - don't stand up straight or you'll bang you head on the ceiling! the air conditioning was very effective, so much so i kept turning it off, and in with the price. The apartment was very clean and cleaned most days. lovely views from the big windows. downpoint with the apartment was there was no balcony. Looking around it seemed the apartments with the mezznines did not have a balcony but the apartments below had lovely large terraces which seemed a little unfair. The pool area was lovely and clean with a small but adequate choice of snacks. The not so positive (for me) was the lack of facilities for children. Children were not allowed to have fun with inflatables in pool - and i mean babies too (except on sundays and after 5pm when the life guard had gone) there is no games room for them to escape the sun, not even a pool table. This meant that the kids wanted to go back to the apartment when they had enough of the heat. it looked like it used to have a games room and even a restaurant once upon a time but they have since closed. The biggest suprise to me was the bar closed from about 8pm which i've never seen before. this means you have to go into Gouvia (9 muses for food, the louvre hotel for fab half price cocktails and the beach bar for chilling out) if you want to go out for a drink/meal. It is not far and has a good selection of tavernas and bars, although very noisy with mopeds and quad bikes. Sometimes we just didn't feel like it, and with no balcony and only CNN on TV..... they did have a greek bbq once a fortnight which was nice but with only 2 staff on the bar, this is all they could manage to do for evening entertainment which is a shame. All in all a lovely time in a lovely place, just not enough for the kids to do away from the pool, which most parents would agree....happy entertained kids means happy relaxed parents. oh and a word of warning.....avoid the henna tattoo artist with your kids, my 12 year old's tattoo just bubbled with blisters...lesson learnt!
