“Very pleasant stay”

Recently stayed for two weeks at the Paradise with the family and thoroughly enjoyed it. A smallish family hotel not far from the resort of Gouvia. The fact that the teenagers had the night life of Gouvia and we had the tranquility of the Paradise was perfect for us. It is close to the local Corfu bus and we had some fun trips on the Magdalena which leaves the beach in Gouvia and goes up and down the coast. The accomodation is simple but more than adequate and spotless. The breakfast was fine. The staff were all delightful. We booked through Booking.com and got a seaview, fridge, air-co and cooked to order egg and bacon all included. I can only suppose that those who complained about having to pay for these things had chosen the cheaper options over the Internet. It is a bit like if you book with Ryan air you know you have to pay for certain extras. And come on 'rooms overlooking a wasteland' be fair the gardens are stunning. All in all we were very happy with our stay and would love to return.

“Nice atmosphere, great location and friendly staff”

We stayed here for a week in July, and had a very nice time. The hotel is beautifully situated on top of a hill, with a great view of Gouvia from the pool area. The atmosphere at the hotel is calm and friendly, and even though the hotel was fully booked, it wasn't noticable. The staff were very nice and helpful. The rooms aren't very modern, but they are ok and all you need. A word of warning, the sunbeds tilts very easily, and Sparky the donkey could scare you with his loud noises :-) Overall we enjoyed out stay and highly recommend Paradise Hotel.

“Nice hotel with very good service”

The hotel is situated just outside the centre of Govia and has a beautiful view from the pool of the meditteranian. The service is superb and would have got 5 out of 5 if the breakfast would have been a little better and the rooms larger.
Perfect for a family with children to stay at!

“My Paradise”

Just came back from a holiday in Corfu. We stayed at the Paradise Hotel in Gouvia and had a fantastic time. The hotel staff were great, the rooms were very clean and there was a beautiful view from the pool and restaurant area. We found it was good value for money and really enjoyed our stay there. The owners and staff were very efficient and I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family!!!

“Penny Pinching and disapointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2011

I completely review with all comments from the reviewer below, a penny pinching, dated and disapointing hotel

The rooms are very small and dated, ours on the top floor overlooking wasteland consisted of a dressing table, wardrobe and two single beds, tv wall mounted and bathroom, small balcony outside, which was enough as no room for anything else. Air con was available at a charge as are most things at the hotel. Would have benefited from fridge in room to keep water, but the hotel has a "no food / drinks from outside the hotel policy"

The English woman who owns the hotel is nosey and as mentioned in previous post overseas breakfast like a matron and makes you feel uncomfortable. She also made a few comments about us coming in late, despite been in bed for midnight most nights. Breakfast is very basic and anything extra is a charge. When on holiday i dont expect or want english breakfast but I wouldnt expect to have to pay extra for fresh orange juice or yogurt when in a b and b. Breakfast consists of bread, cheese, preserves, salami, museli and cornflakes which gets a bit boring after a couple of days. However eggs bacon etc available at charge. They do serve horrible coffee and very diluted orange cordial for free

When checking in, Mary (actually very nice lady) told us not to bring any food or drinks from outside/supermarket especially to have round the pool, however the pool bar was shut and the lobby bar very expensive, however the other guests didnt stick to this rule so neither did we. The pool itself is ok, but the sunloungers are very old and uncomfortable. There were no umbellas either.

The resport of gouvia is about 5minute walk away, coming home on a night up the unlit track road past groups of teenagers made us uncomfortable / apprehensive. The resort isnt that great and not particularly greek, and could have been anywhere from a package brochure

We only stayted here 4 nights before travelling by hydrofoil to paxos where we stayed in an amazing apartment for same price, if only we'd have known we would have gone sooner, to a truely beautiful untouched part of greece
