I have been to this hotel a couple of times and never have really been excited about staying there.
First off, the good stuff: Kolasin is a wonderful town, and it's really worth seeing all times of year. The hotel itself fits the ambience - in the winter they have a very nice fireplace in full force in the center of the lobby; the wood inside the hotel is warm and inviting. The pool is terrific, if it is a quiet time of year. It can be overcrowded during peak times, and sometimes a little chilly for the weather. The food served for breakfast is decent, but it's difficult to get someone to help you, whether it's to make an omelet at their omelet station or coffee. I've also loved sitting near their bar and relaxing; it's warm and has a really great feel to it. The spa is nice - I've gotten a couple of massages there, and the ladies are wonderful. Their gym is pretty good, though I've seen a couple of broken machines.
Then there's the annoying stuff: I spent a weekend there, in what they call their 'second high season' (summer), and was forced to endure the same song, on repeat, for the entire weekend. And although it's annoying at check in and in the lobby (or near the bar I described above), it's particularly annoying late at night when you can hear it while you're lying in bed.
If you're not there during the winter high season, then you'll have a minimum number of amenities in the hotel. Most of the spas are closed; some are open only for a few hours a day. Restaurants and their cafes are closed, although you can get coffee and drinks in their bar area.
The bathrooms in the rooms are nice, with one exception. Who designs a bathroom so elegant, and forgets to allow enough room for the toliet? I mean, seriously - you have to sit diagonally on the toilet because the counter for the sink juts out too far. And this isn't in just one room - it's in all but one that I've stayed in.
Like most hotels in this area, internet is not free. Even when you pay for it, it's pretty weak. Unless you need it, I wouldn't recommend it.
The service is also really slow - particularly at the front desk. The elevator has an annoying feature where you need to use your card to get out of it, regardless of the level you are on. Makes it difficult if you lock yourself out of your room to get to the lobby.
Ultimately, it's a pretty place and I actually would recommend it when it's not in the high season for its peace and quiet - just don't expect value that goes along with the low demand.
