My wife and I stayed at Gasthuis Kaliste for 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. Great nature around a very nicely renovated farmhouse. By car you're in Cesky Krumlov or Lipno (lake) in 30 min. Frans and Sonja are good hosts, the room we had (honeymoon-suite) spacious, clean and nice. We would definitely recommend this Gasthuis for people that are looking to visit Cesky Krumlov/Lipno/etc but are looking for a restful and outdoors stay.

We stayed in Gasthuis Kaliste for 2 nights. Although our first impression was quite good, we got a bit disappointed during our stay. Positive marks: friendly welcome by host Frans (although he didn't offer to help bringing our luggage up to the second floor) very nicely decorated breakfastroom, spacious 2 bedroom-room, nice, quiet environment. However, the room wasn't clean, the hosts were inflexible about dinner-time and menu (it was only possible to have one fixed menu at 18h) and the amounts of flies visiting us during dinner were annoying. For kids, it would be nice if there was a small (plunge)pool. There are sheep and horses but the children are not allowed to pet them. Breakfast is OK but not spectacular. Dinner was very simple. In the area surrounding the guesthouse prostitutes are at work.

Beautiful B&B not too far from the highway in peaceful Czech countryside. It's 30 minutes from Cesky Krumlov (our key interest in that area) and close to the Austrian border (where we were going next). We got the 2 bed-room unit for 2 nights which was nice & spacious. Even had a basic dining table & 4 chairs. Rest of the visitors were all Dutch seniors, extremely friendly. The hosts & the other guests really made us feel at home. The hosts went out of their way to make us comfortable e.g. they gave us a binder on Cesky Krumlov to look at and set up room heaters in our rooms because it was unseasonally cold.

The few minor issues were dimly lit rooms, TV with very few channels, carrying bags up 2 flights of stairs, and electrified animal fences which we told kids to stay away from.

Overall a very pleasant stay.

Tucked away in pure nature! Quit surrounding, friendly hosts, large - tidy - and bright room. Plenty of parkingspace. Would highly recommend!
