we first went here in 2007 and enjoyed it so much we booked for 2008 straight away, not much had changed except the cost of living, seems we are paying double the cost for most things like bread, milk, beer etc, and things had deff gone up since last year, which has put us off going again.
most places to eat offer the same sort of menu , we , like many others had favourites of course , ours being bonni's. in most places the staff were friendly and helpful.
strange place the kit-kat bar.. english bar??? serves food, pizza from place next door or offers from the menu from the spanish bar the other side, but i give juliet her due, she did uses to make her own special dishes..... chilli con carni, lasagne, curry......english bar???? lol whats wrong with pie and mash or steak and kidney pie ?
last year we stayed in zone 3 but this year we were in zone 5, a little dissapointed as its further to walk to the centre of son bou but only an extra 5 mins maybe, but well worth it, much nicer complex, staff were more friendly and the place was kept clean and tidy, well until we had the mini hurricane of course lol.
the pool in zone 5 is a shaped pool rather then the square boring type in 3
rather then hire a car we used buses, very reliable, always on time, friendly helpful drivers, and modern buses, a credit to menorca. and not costly at all!
beware of the nudist beach, some of them have great pleasure in showing off and trying to embarrass passers by, why do they have to stand up by waters edge , pointing and reading a book or doing crossword beats me!
for the more energetic types, a walk to santa tomas along beach and over cliffs is deff a worth while trip, takes about an hour, unless you wanna jog.
there is a road train that runs all day i think , to take you to beach, shops etc, drivers a bit of a misery, we waited for 10 mins, and never had the right money, so he would not take us!!! how are we suppose to know?????
