Booked this hotel over phone after making an advance payment into their bank account with Axis Bank. The check in was very smooth and the super deluxe room was kept ready for me. The room is spacious and has two pillars in the middle that are done with some beautiful colours. The TV worked well.
Cleanliness:
The rooms and the hotel was very well maintained. However the linen and the towels could do with some replacement. Also the furnitures are quite old, however the woodden floor was very well maintained.
Bathroom:
The bathroom was adequately spacious with hot running water readily available. Although the fittings were old and could do with some maintainence.
Bed & the Mattress:
The twin bed was quite old and the mattress was extremely hard. Had a poor sleep.
Service:
The local lads tried their best and the level was service was pretty ok.
Food:
The chicken momo and the chilly chicken was bad others were ok.
USP:
The USP of this hotel is undoubtedly its location. Located at the end of the MG Road, in a pedestrian only zone, the hotel makes for a must visit. Gangtok is not really a place wherein you look for solitude or valley views as these are to be found in other parts of Sikkim & the main attraction of the city is still the vibrant and colourful MG Road. As you wait for the crowds to leave in the night & the clouds to come down to the hotel, sitting on the bench outside the door of the hotel with raindrops falling on your face, is an experience that you are going to cherish forever.
Verdict :
I would love to be back provided they change the mattress.
