“Mumbai to Gangtok”

Let me begin by thanking Mintokling for making our stay in Gangtok a real pleasure. Spacious and well appointed rooms, excellent room service and very personalised approach to tour management gets them the kudos.
I, my wife and 12 year old son spent 3 nights and have carried back good memories of our stay and visits to places of interest thanks to everyone involved in it and associated with Mintokling.
We will recommend this place of stay without any hesitation.
On a seperate note : Do be aware that Siliguri to Gangtok need not be a smooth ride, be prepared for traffic snarls and under construction roads on your way to Nathula Pass, do your travel bookings with sufficient time to take care of spill overs so that you would not miss that train or flight !!!!

Our trip to gangtok was too successfull because of staying in Mintokling guest house, which was xactly we wanted. Its situation (away from crowded city noise), Its breathtaking view of Kanchanjangha from each an every room, A small lawn (a Ideal place to take a sunbathing, a place to have a cup of coffee in the evening), A perfect mixture of all colours of rainbow around the guesthouse which inspire you to draw the landscape or write a poem or atleast have a good time to spend ....... and lastly the hospitality ( u will feel like A HOME AWAY FROM HOME) . its all because of good management and good will to serve for the tourists. i wish every time i go to gangtok we can stay there....... Dr Bhowmick and family from kolkata. Thanks to Mr sanjit of SANRAJ TOURS and TRAVELS.

Room Tip: 302 and 304 those two rooms are too good because of huge sapce and a perfect moutain view.

Chose Mintokling Guest House after extensive research on trip advisor. It thoroughly deserves its Rank as Gangtoks No. 1 B&B Place. the hospitality of the sister & brother Duo of Pema & Tenzing is immaculate. Staff are courteous and friendly & not "in your face" eager to please. Room are Spotless clean. Food is homely - not exotic. Mintokling situated a little bit higher than the hustle and bustle of the town and its market place, the ambiance is very soothing in its quietude.. It was raining all 3 evenings we stayed in Gangtok so didnt get to enjoy walks to the main market below on MG Road. Another aspect of Mintokling which is a must know for first time travelers to Sikkim. Ms Pema & Tenzing are very well networked to ensure that you get the best experience in your travels to explore Gangtok and Sikkim. sure you can perhaps get a cheaper deal negotiating yourself, but with Pema & Tenzing its a safe bet that they will provide you with the best facilities and travel arrangements, with which you can never go wrong. Mintokling is like Home away from Home. will defintely go back on another extended trip soon. Just missed the Earth quake but thank god Mintokling and its owners didnt suffer damage. God bless them

Room Tip: Ask for Rooms on the higher Floors to get a good view of Kanchenjunga

“If in Gangtok, I will stay here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011

We stayed here for about 4 nights on our Sikkim trip. Will put in a short summary of what I liked the most

Downsides first as they as lesser
- Located at some distance from the MG Road. If you want to walk back to the hotel after dinner @ MG road, its quite a climb. Also, it gets really dark and quiet on the Bhanu Path. Taking a taxi is advisable once sun sets
- Not really fancy. This might be a turnoff for some of the tourists.

Pros
- The owners, who stay in a portion of the guesthouse themselves, are really courteous and go out of their way to help you in any way possible. We had reserved our rooms just by calling the owners and there were no glitches once we reached the hotel.
- The rooms are well maintained and clean. Suites are large and comfortable.
- The service as well as inhouse dining options are good.
- Courteous staff
- Away from the bustle of the main city, if you like quiet places.

Overall pretty impressive.

Room Tip: Try and get the suit that faces that faces the mountains. On clear days, there is a really good view...

“Great location very hospitable and clean”

Close to town if you don't mind a steep walk of 75 metres and flight of 100+ steps to cut through to Tibet Road then a similar distance and terrain that drops you into the main pedestrianised shopping mall. Very pleasant service. Meals are extra but good quality and reasonably priced. Easy to catch taxis from the front gate if needed. Dogs barking at night can be tiresome but recommend the location, service and cleanliness.
