This is an excellent hotel in the heart of the city. very near to main bus stand ( 2 kms )..a pukka budget hotel at 1700 bucks for 2 ppl,,nice spacious n clean rooms, the check - in n check out are hassle free..the bathroom was spec clean (hot n cold water is available 24*7),clean bed sheets n curtains..next comes food which was again excellent ..we had breakfast, lunch n dinner ..all the 3 were equally good ...room service is very prompt and whatever u order it comes to u within 15 mins (best part!)..you just need not wait or call them again. The cable connection was a bit of disappointment but apart from that there is no room for complaint ..they even provide you with a iron safe in your cupboard. big parking space is available for vehicles too ...
overall very good hotel with an unbeatable price ..highly recommended

When we decided to visit Pondicherry on 5th and 6th Jan 2012 for attending a relatives marriage, we were confused about which hotel to choose,
Since it was only for one day and we would be out most of the time we wanted a good decent hotel which was not very expensive. We hit upon Hotel Jayaram thanks to Trip Advisor, We made the reservation over the phone.
Hotel Jayaram satisfied all our expectations. The hotel iself was decent, clean, the checkin was prompt and the rooms were spacious and equipped with a small centre table and 2 chairs and a 22 inch Lcd TV.
The location of the hotel was pretty near Nehru street and the bus stand was less than 2km away. By auto it was Rs 30 to 40. The bathroom was also spacious and the fixtures provided were not only new but also had a semblance of luxury in their appearance.
There was no free breakfast and Wi fi was charged at Rs 50 per hour. But at such a competetive pricing of Rs 1700 per day, we really did not feel that it was justifiable to complain.
Overall Hotel Jayaram is a really nice place to stay when in Pondicherry. I will strongly recommend this hotel for budget travellers visiting Pondy and for even the more elite who feel they can save some money by staying at a budget hotel with 2 star facilities. If anyone is looking out for luxury at affordable rates this is the place for you

This is very good hotel for budget travelers who do not want anything other than stay and vegetarian food... A la carte Breakfast is excellent but it is not complimentary. Veg Thali is excellent and comes with small portions of many south / north indian dishes.. The rates are very reasonable for the taste and you will be surprised... There is no bar attached and no non veg food is served... these are what you look for when you are in Pondicherry.... but I don't think the hotel management objects if you have a drink in your room.... as it is in the center of Pondicherry
you can visit many places by walking through the congested town

I liked my stay at Hotel Jayaram. The room was spacious, however since Pondy was hit by a cyclone the TV was not operational. Its is located near to the Aurobindo ashram and the rocky beach is also at a walking distance. I did not like the food but the service was commendable. The floor was very noisy and and could not sleep well as we could here someone shifting their furniture early in the morning.
