The hotel is an average but quite good for Indian standards. Ask for the room in newer part. Food is OK. Like many other mid range hotels it is located outside of the main part of city, you need car or taxi to go around.

This hotel can be rated as average in terms of the facilities it offers and the prices it quotes for the facilities. Rooms are reasonably spacious. Food in the restaurant is good, especially the local dishes. The staff are quite responsive to your needs. The places lacks in terms of appearance and architecture, nothing to distinguish it from a host of other similar hotels in Pondicherry.

We booked the hotel through makemytrip.com. It is so called 3 star hotel, but nothing more than any other hotel usually found next door to the us stand in any city of India. While the reception staff was cordial, rest all was a disaster. Location - in city, next to bus stand. No use if you do not have a vehicle. Service, substandard. Only one towel in room, no napkins. Repeated calling to room service yields only on more towel which has leaved its life years ago. Bathroom, looks like not revamped for decade, a decent Rs 500 hotel will have better one. No double bed, only split single bed. You join, and they will never even out. Fixed sofa, which will ensure you will not sit on, as it stinks so much. No drawers in rooms. And all this for a cost of 3 star hotel. Traveling alone, with wife or kids, it is a strict no-no as I just visited from 24 Dec 2010 for 2 nights. I suggest looks for other hotels run by ashram right on beach (retreat at just 2200).

The hotel as such is fine. But the cost is on the higher side, and the food is very expensive which makes this hotel as not a choice.
Rooms are clean and spacious. The corridors are basic.
We had an issue with the bed and telephone, so they changed the room after some reasoning.
My child(1 yr) enjoyed it too because of space in the room.
The complimentary breakfast is good but it gets crowded and it can be little ugly. The restaurant is not spacious enough during peak season(Christmas/new year)
The food is damn expensive, a simple tea costs you 200 rs, I was wondering under what circumstances can the tea be so costly. The town more than makes up for this though, there are lots of great food available.
The room cost is also on higher side, so overall one can choose this if other options are closed.
