“A great 7 days”

As a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids 16,12,11, we are just back from an all inclusive week at Club Andria and what a bargain!!

Ok the rooms are a bit dated but we only lay our heads there don't we and the cleanliness was first class with rooms cleaned and fresh linen and towels every day. The Club is 6 blocks of apartments around a swimming pool with a seperate building for the Restaurant. Reception is immaculate and always manned by brilliant people who always look to help. Our rooms were less that 12 feet from the edge of the pool and we had 5 sunbeds arranged around the pool that we never had to get up early to book.

The food is plentiful and wide ranging with english, spanish and german tastes ctered for. The 2 younger girls both experienced rabbit, quail and clams for the first time while my son made sure the chips were always having to be restocked. Drinks were available from 10 am to 11 pm and a few nights entertainment was laid on. The kids programme had just started as we left.

Cala Blanca is a 10 minute walk but to be honest the recession seems to be biting as half the shops were boarded up. The cove and beach near the Club are small but very gently shelving but again most hotels seem to be closed or up for sale.

Now the cost. We booked through Onthebeach and for the 5 of us All Inclusive for the Bank Holiday week it was just £1700. Great fun and superb weather.

“Not that bad at all !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2008

I beg to differ on the previous reviews. Got moved to this resort after arriving in Cala'n Bosch and finding the room we had booked in Oct '07 wasn't available ! The people who ran/owned the apartments we stayed in ("Sa Punta", sister apts of Club Andria) couldn't do enough for us as we had been messed about. Had a first floor apt (very small balcony). After complaining we were moved to ground floor with a terrace and were able to use facilities at Club Andria just round the corner. All German and Spanish that stayed there, but so what, they are entitled to a holiday aswell ! Pool was excellent & very clean. The food was basic, but a good choice - had two 13 year olds with us & they didn't complain ! Drinks were local (as they always are when you go All Inclusive) but tasted fine to us. The bar staff were friendly enough as were the staff on reception (booking taxis. etc) Can't comment on the rooms here, as I say we stayed in sister apts round the corner. The resort is very quiet with only a couple of bars on the beach and one supermarket, but Cala Blanca is walkable in 8 mins or so where there are more shops and several bars (even an amusement arcade). Bus service is regular to Cuitedella town, but we walked it in 40 mins ! I wouldn't hesitate in going back here - a very picturesque part of the island. Caln'n Bosch is 10 mins (22 euros in a taxi) if you want crowds and karaoke bars.

“Disgraceful”

I booked this hotel to go with my husband and kids. The pictures looked great everything was looking fab. I got there and i was appaled. The state of it was nothing like the pictures. The dinner hall which was like a marquee was dirty. This hotel was quite cheap and i thought it would be great! I had to change hotels through my holiday. I reccomend Hotel Cala´N Bosch.
There was hardly any english people at the hotel.
The apartments were so dirty and the television was all spanish.
When i booked this it said it had sky. I was looking foward to watching my english programmes. If i was a family and wanted somewhere to go I definately would not ever come here again.
This was appalling.

“depressing experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2007

Myself, my husband and sister and brother in law have just returned from Club Andria. The place is very dated and in need of maintenance with missing and broken paving slabs under foot outside and cupboard doors hanging off furniture inside. Some rooms had main lights with exposed wires and baths with stained and eroded enamel. There is a general atmosphere of apathy amongst the staff and after the first futile attempts to get some attention to the rooms we realised that it was pointless in complaining, - we just had to put up with it.
The staff are not friendly in the dining room and speak only spanish. sometimes there is not a menu available to know what is being eaten, which is very important to people on special diets or vegetarians. The electricity is switched off in the dining area promptly at mealtimes and before the closing times stated. On one occasion, I was in the middle of cooking toast on the antiquated toaster at breakfast time when the electricity was switched off to the appliance regardless of the fact that the staff knew that we were still eating our breakfast. Although we had taken the option of all inclusive the meals were all of a sameness and many people including ourselves were compelled to eat elsewhere usually once per day rather than face the monotony of the food and the miserable surroundings of the dining room 3 times per day.
I could continue on this theme.
However, to conclude, I feel regret that our first experience of Menorca has been spoilt by staying at this place.

“Oh dear..where do we start?”

Being under no false illusions of this hotel being a three star I was quite realistic about the facilities and general quality of the place. I have to say that once you get over the tired and slighlty shabby bathroom you reckon that you can cope ok...it´s a little shocking to say the least that when a guest ´s baby has a "dodgy tummy" IN the pool with NO nappy it can be a little worrying to say the least ..when that same person leaves the mess lying at the side of the pool and her husband washes his messed sandals IN the pool that could be a little more concerning..but when mentioning the situation to hotel staff that takes things beyond belief when they say " what do you want us to do about it". There are flies in the restaurant, food is adequate but luke warm..staff are reluctant to serve you with drinks and will allow the majority of spanish and germans..(90%) to skip in front of you. On speaking to the manager regarding the bad attitude of bar staff he told me that he did´nt speak english and has to get help from his receptionist. This could be a really good place to have a decent holiday but the staff let it down badly.. it´s almost as if they object to you being on all inclusive. There is evening entertainment twice a week and nothing the rest.. no english language tv channel whatsover...please take what I am saying seriously I have travelled extensively in Menorca and this is below standard...I am not one for moaning for the sake of it!!!
