we went to the los alisios with slight trepidation after the reviews we saw. what we encountered was happily something totally different the staff were superb with a mention for javier and rena bar man and receptionist excellent. the food was good the only draw back was the beds they were like sleeping on blocks of wood everything else was very good

“Friendly, International hotel suitable for the fit and energetic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I travelled with my mum who is 81 so we didnt want entertainment, just a friendly social atmosphere so the best thing about this hotel is definitely the helpful, friendly staff and the family feeling of being safe. Everyone was well behaved and relaxed. There was no rowdy music down by the pool (I could actually read a book in peace!), The worst thing for mum and I were the steps - it is definitely not suitable if you cant climb steps. We had a 'ground' floor apartment in C block just up from the pool bar which was convenient for the bar as I could simply nip over the balcony rail, down the stairs and get the drinks then nip back in 2 minutes. The negative was that we didnt get the sun all day like the higher balconies and we did get the smell of the fried snacks they prepared each morning and afternoon. Mum i felt somewhat 'trapped' as the trip to the restaurant meant her having to climb down a spiral staircase, several sets of steps and then negotiate the slippery pool area that was sparkling clean and scrubbed every morning, She was terrified of slipping. The bedroom had damp in the wardrobe which smelled fusty - I reported this and it was cleaned off. I slept on the pull out sofa bed in the lounge which was very comfortable. Because of the lack of entertainment we made a lot of aquaintances and socialised more than usual, especially with different nationalities, this was definitiely a plus. We went to bed fairly early and the television was rubbish, just Sky news and some sport but if you enjoy reading who cares? The food was pretty basic but good we always found something we liked and the bacon was crispy. If you asked the cook he would fry your eggs as you like them. The salads were great and lunch times the best meals. If you like cheese you will be happy! There was a good selection. I tipped waiters and bar staff at the beginning of the holiday and again at the end. They were fantastic, patient and kind and could not do enough to help when my mum had a cold. Cheap and cheerful holiday with the bonus of meeting some funny and interesting people. No frills so take your own towel for the sunbeds and they do charge 1.5 euros a day for a matress but it was worth it for some comfort. This hotel is a long way from the beach but a great walk down and only 4 euros to go back in a taxi. As we went at the beginning of February it could be quite chilly when the sun went in and in the evenings we needed cardigans. We were glad we took our fluffy dressing gowns!

“Happy holiday”

My husband and I were looking for a last minute, cheap holiday in the sun and that is what we got. (normally we choose 4*) The apartments are a bit dated but very spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the company of people from many countries.

The choice of food was limited but there was always meat, fish, pastas, sauces, salads etc. all freshly prepared. The dining room was light and airy with background music.

Our room did back on to the main room but only heard the traffic as we were waking. We always enjoyed the walk to Los Cristianos promenade - helped to burn off the calories of an all- inclusive holiday!

All in all we had a cheap relaxing break in the sun and we would return here again - You get what you pay for.

“read the small print”

This was our first holiday in 10years & what a dissapointment. I know these were 3 star appartments, but they still in my opinion didn't come up to scratch. The outward appearance was good, the staff you couldn't fault them. Cleanliness good but the appartments left a lot to be desired they had an uncared for look. We had a leaky toilet a couple of big cracks in the bathroom sink & loose floor tiles that would cut your feet if you weren't careful. The bar closed at 10.30 because some of the appartments were privatly owned by people working localy. The entertainment was none a non event. The cookery demonstrations I can only assume was watching your fish or meat being cooked at mealtimes! & the food although ample was boring . I know you can't please everyone but a little less chips/ pasta & more spanish food would have been nice.No heated swimming pool either,Need I go on!! The small print says "subject to change & restrictions" I shall certainly be watching for those words when I next book a holiday. This was our first experiance of all inclusive...Never again.

Room Tip: Try a high floor & Block B gets the sun all afternoon/evening

“Disappointed with the Hotel Rooms”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

It was our first holiday in 6 years and was deeply upset by the way we were treated for 4 days. First complaint as we arrived late due to delays and being all inclusive we had to find our own way to our rooms, which i found this a little frightening as i am a single parent and we were not given anything to eat or drink. Second complaint was the rooms they were spacious but really needed modernising, we had cracked tiles, green kitchen taps, the work surface needed replacing etc this was when we asked to be moved to another room but this was no better. Third complaint was the heated pool, they told me it was heated but how can a pool be heated when it takes your breath away when you get in it. They also started to charge for the mats for the sunbeds. Do you call this ALL INCLUSIVE, This continued all week. The only good thing about the hotel was the staff but was warned not to go there in the summer months because of the French. Not much for teenagers to do, my son was bored most of the time.

Room Tip: I stayed in Block A which overlooked the pool and from the front you could see the sea
