“Paradise Park Hotel really was Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

My partner and I spent 14 amazing days at this hotel in Tenerife from 29th January to the 12th February 2012. We would definitely recommend this hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. We went all inclusive and had consistently excellent food. LOADS of choice and food was always hot and nicely presented. When we went out for the day the hotel provided a picnic lunch and it was the best picnic I have ever had from a hotel. There are 6 swimming pools and 3 Jacuzzis are we were able to use them every day, there are loads of comfy sunbeds too. The hotel entertainment was on every day and was enjoyable especially the music tribute nights. The waitors were friendly and helpful and clearly enjoyed their jobs. The hotel had a lovely location with a free bus to take you daily to and fro to the beach at Los Cristianos.
I would definitely recoomend this hotel to couples, we had a great time. 2 of the pools are adult only so it was easy to find somewhere quiet to chill out at the hotel.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms are the best and very quiet at night

“Nice hotel, very mixed level of customer service”

We stayed at this hotel in Jan 2011, we booked direct with their own web site with friends and requested 2 rooms together, and actually picked the rooms through their web site. We paid more than we normally pay for winter holidays and we regarded this hotel as quite a treat for ourselves.

Transfer from airport was twenty something Euro's and I would encourage everyone to consider that option for this area, you can land and be in your hotel within an hour which is fantastic. At check in ourselves and our friends booked in together, but were allocated rooms 4 floor apart, it was not the biggest deal in life, but when we asked we were given a very indifferent response.

Rooms were fine, nice - neither had great views but we didn't pick on that basis, our room looked onto a goods entrance area, and where the little bus parked that can run you down the hill. It was not noisy, but certainly wasn't the rooms we had picked.

The hotel in itself is an interesting place, in the reception there is actually an open air part near the lifts so watch if you are unlucky and it happens to rain as it can get slippy - this of course in Tenerife is unlikely though did happen to us.

The inside of the hotel on the main floors I found to be quite dark, it was using motion detecting lights, but its the first time I have seen them in such a central public area.

Room in itself was "nice", decent beds, good tv, good quality of bathroom, it wasn't quite what they were showing on the web site for the class of room, but pretty much the same everywhere.

There was also a great gym and treatment room, with lots of spa type services on offer.

Great things about the hotel were :-

Little outside terrace where you could get lunch, amazing even in January, always some steak, chicken, fish etc, together with all the other salads and chips you would expect. We went all inclusive and their was wine, beer and soft drinks all on a help yourself basis. The swimming pool outside in the centre of the hotel was also nice but relatively small, again with a little snack / burger bar that served drinks at the pool side. Don't however let yourself accept that this is the only pool, walk round the side and there are little pools, and then an area that was not really advertised in any way, walk over a little lane and they have a fantastic pool, with millions of sun loungers, and a bar. It said something about 5Euros per day, and I have no idea who that applied to, but we went there most days, and would be great in the summer.

Dinner and breakfast were fine, good range, maybe not best I have seen in the evenings, but good none the less, nice touch with Champagne / Cava at some breakfasts, perfect for me anyway !

Another great area if roof top terrace, which has a great sun bathing area, bar with snacks, and some jacuzzi pools etc

Customer Service - 2 or 3 lovely people, in particular Alicia in the roof top bar, who by far stood out in the whole hotel, and every one of the party of 4 agreed on this (thank you Alicia).

Out and about - a number of bars out and about, all with a range of entertainment in the evening and sport in the day time, also within 2 minutes a big Spar store to get absolutely anything you wanted. Walk to beach is about 10 mins down hill, walk up is also fine, but its steep for those who are not the most mobile, taxi from bottom up was 3 or 4 Euros. Also a market at bottom of hill on certain days, not my cup of tea. We walked into Las Americas / Adeje which is a fair walk, but nice and has a nice promenade. Also along Los Cristanos, there is a nice beach front with lots of little bars to sit at and if my memory serves me right a Burger King etc for those who need it ! lol

Bad Side - I have to be honest here, I have done customer serving ./ supervisor jobs all my life and I take all the different levels of service you get in life with a pinch of salt & giggle, having seen them at one stage or another, I never complain about anything as I have been on the receiving end loads in my life.

I personally found the majority of the staffs attitude pretty poor, highlighted by what must have been one of the wettest days there ever was in Tenerife. In essence it lashed down for 6 hours, which made us laugh, but being all inclusive a number of people sat in the bars and had a few drinks, we ended up in the bar just below the reception, which was empty, no older people, no children ...... a few people had probably got a little merry and were near the bar, having a laugh. I would stress here a little, no bad language, no bad comments, no trouble, we are talking couples aged 35 - 50, and all of a sudden it was no more drinks, because of our behaviour. I know that anyone reading this may think that I am painting us as angels, and that we were worse than I am writing, I can only promise you as the big heavy person who was not too affected by the alcohol, that nobody was behaving in an unacceptable way, and there were no other guests who had any problems. One of the party went and spoke to the reception / management and was told that if they didn't like the decision they could find a different hotel. I spoke to the person who was in charge in the bar, and asked why they had made the decision, he said (David) that he was happy to serve myself a drink but not some others. At the risk of sounding like a child, and saying the same thing again, we were not yobs, or youngsters going crazy, we weren't shouting, fighting, swearing, just maybe having a laugh at how hard the rain had been falling.

Other bad point - twice in emptying our bath, waste (looked like sewerage came back into it when my partner was just exiting the bath, the smell was terrible). Both times they came out straight away, first time they said it was fixed, next day when it happened again we were not so happy

Would we return, No - it has 2 or 3 great things, the terrace area, the pool over the road, the rooftop area, Alicia but the customer service attitude was really poor, and 2 letters were ignored by the hotel asking for their comments. We have stayed in different hotels in this area in the past and would pick them first.

We did stay 1 year ago so perhaps things will have changed

Room Tip: Hotel web site let you pick room you wanted if booking direct, but it didn't happen for us.

Pleasant stay for a week here, though a little out of the way. Overall very friendly staff everywhere and most helpful. Room was good and was kept clean and tidy. Choices of pools to use and plenty of sunbeds. A very good restaurant where we found food to be very good although repititious. Recommended!

“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We stayed for one week all inclusive in Jan/Feb. The buffet and drinks were fine, plenty of bars and snack bars/restaurants. We didn't stay in every night but the entertainment was good, we saw a comedy magician, a show tunes singer and a snake handler. We couldn't find the heated swimming pool, they were all a bit tepid but not freezing. There were two jacuzzis on the roof which were very warm, the views were amazing over the town from there and there were plenty of sunbeds. Only one minor gripe - the hotel was a bit cold, but it was January!

Room Tip: Get the mini bus into and out of Los Cristianos as the hotel is on "Cardiac Hill"!
