“great apartment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We stayed in Paloma Beach Apartments during the last week of January and were very happy with our accomodation. the location was great - close to restaurants and shops. Our apartment had a very well equiped kitchen, lovely furniture, TV/DVD/Stereo, large sunny balcony overlooking the pool and books, games and CD's. We would highly recommend these apartments if you are having a holiday in Los Cristianos.

Room Tip: ask for sunny balcony

“Good Value appertments, Friendly staff.”

These appartments are are excellent value and the complex is very clean and tidy with friendly staff. Is situated at the far end of Los Cristianos so is better suited to those that don't mind a stroll, but their is still a few bars and restaurants on the complex and close by that are very good.

“clean, tidy and quiet”

When booking accommodation for our holiday in Tenerife we found that much of the independent accommodation on offer was already booked so I ended up paying more than usual (€370 for 1 bedroom pw) for an apartment through an intermediary. I was slightly concerned that the apartment would be of lesser quality or noisy or shabby etc but even though we arrived after midnight, first impressions were good and I have to say, it's clean, quiet and the staff are helpful. It would suit an older couple or group best but anybody who is looking for clean, quiet accommodation could do a lot worse. Please be aware that it can be a long walk to the harbour or bus stop. There is a taxi rank 5 minutes up the road, a small supermarket nearby and a small selection of british bars nearby catering to an older clientele. There are a few funkier bars around but it takes a while to get to know them. Also, most of Los Cristianos seems to shut by midnight, so if you want to stay out later you need to head to Las Americas. Taxis back from there are about €8. Recommended, especially if you can get it for a good price and want peace and quiet

Room Tip: all rooms are individual so it may be worth asking the management company, who are english, about th...

“could be better, but could be a lot worse.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

My partner and i stayed here over the christmas week in room 149. Luckily, this apartment had been quite recently refurbed. The general self catering facilities were excellent and the apt itself was comfortable, unfortunately, due to the position of the room within the complex, it NEVER receives any sunlight, meaning that the lights had to be switched on all day and the balcony is pretty much surplus to requirements. Furthermore, the bedroom it extremely noisey due in part to the construction of the building and the acoustics due to the hard surfaces within the apt. we were awoken every night either by people returning the their rooms, doors slamming, or the trundle of trollies one the cobbled tiles outside. Also we could hear the plumbing from other rooms and other guests toilet habits..we could also hear the women next door vomiting down the toilet every other night. Although the room was clean we were horrified/disappointed to discover a used tampon wrapped in toilet secreted beneath the bathroom sink.
The resort itself it ok but its a long walk to Playa Vista, the only decent beach in Los Cristianos. The other beach is essentially a harbour/dock.
I would recommend any visitor to rent a car and visit Mount teide and the north of the island. the scenery is spectacular and so diverse. the north of the island, although cooler is much more picturesque with lush greenery compared to the barren nature of the south.
personally, we hated the tacky ex-pat bars outside the complex, a mixture of karaoke and/or awful caberet 'entertainment' on backing tracks. youre in pure peter kay ';phoenix nights' territory here.
the apts are well located for iceland and a cpl of local supermarkets but are pretty much the very last apts along this particular stretch of coast. the beach opposite is vile and befouled with dog much and a small homeless/tent community.
we wouldnt return to los cristianos, but if we did, we'd stay much further up the coast nearer to the amenities as the continual trudge up and down the coast constantly being approached by street hawkers and the often rude bar owners/restauranteurs became really, really aggravating.

Room Tip: make sure your room is not on the ground and is on the opposite side of the building to receive the...
