“Big Disappointment”

Just returned from a week at this hotel looked good on the net and in the brochure, but a big disappointment. First room was on the ground floor overlooking the car park. The room had no privacy, and the drains smelled badly, no sink plugs and broken fridge. Reception were not helpful and wanted thirty Euro's per day to upgrade. Rep managed to get us a change of room the following day which was in the main building but overlooked the back road and car park. Also had some kitchen smells but at least we had some privacy. Breakfast was limited and toaster took four attempts to brown the bread. Restaurant and position on the beach were the only good features. Bar and sunbeds were overpriced and therefore under-used.

“It's the worst hotel that I've ever stayed at.”

First of all, we were promised seaview rooms, but they gave us a room overlooking the lobby. When we asked to switch to another room, they refused. The room smelled. The service was awful and the front desk people were rude. Someone was supposed to be stationed at the front desk 24/7. However, there were several times I went to the desk and nobody was there. One time I went to the front desk...I waited five minutes while the guy was on the phone yelling at someone. He wouldn't even acknowledge that I was standing there. He just continued to yell into the phone. I finally just decided to leave. I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

“Great location, great concierge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

Stayed at Mykonos Palace for 4 nights in mid September. From the moment we arrived, the two concierges we dealt with at the front desk were extremely helpful. From showing us a map of the island, where the bus stop was, how to get to town and which beaches are the best. We wanted to do a horseback riding tour (which I would highly, highly recommend) and the day time concierge set it up for us for that same day. The breakfast was standard, mediocre. Definitely saved a lot of money having it there, though. There is a computer in the lobby for use of hotel guests with free internet.
The location couldn't have been better. Steps out of the main lobby onto Platys Gialos beach where two lounge chairs and an umbrella are 10 euro. Only negative would be the people who walk around trying to sell stuff. A bus stop about a 3 minute walk down the beach took us into town in under 10 minutes. 1.40 euro each way with a reliable schedule. A water taxi is also available to get to all the other beaches. About 4 or 5 restaurants along the beach right next to the hotel. I would suggest Blue Myth on Greek night for a fun time and good food. The pool was great with a nice deck over looking the ocean.
Our room was larger than I anticipated. 3 twin beds, good size bathroom. Balcony on our room. My only complaint about this hotel is that one day, in the middle of the day, I walked in to get something I had forgotten and found 4 or 5 maids lounging in our room. Literally one of them was lying across my bed, reading our magazines. They all jumped up when they saw me come in like they knew they were in the wrong. They did not speak any English so I just directed them out of the room but was pretty disgusted with that whole episode.
Besides the maid situation, I would highly recommend this hotel. It's quiet, right on the beach, and a very easy trip into town.

“Great Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

My partner and I spent 2 1/2 weeks in Greece, 7 of the nights we spent at the Mykonos Palace and although the location was great - right on the beach - and the staff were very friendly and helpful it was a bit of a disappointment after spending 7 nights on Santorini. Mykonos seemed more of a party island and we were looking for something more romantic.
The breakfast was included and the food was great, both hot and cold to choose from at the buffet. The lunch and dinner was not included but we ate at the hotel restaurant serveral times as both the food and service was excellent and the restaurant was right on the beach. There was also a lovely bar lounge by the pool with excellent drinks and service.
We found the island to be the dirtiest of the three we went to, Santorini, Crete were the other two. It seems the partiers just throw there cans, bottles, litter on the street, and it can be dangerous with all the broken glass. Of the three islands, Mykonos seemed to have the most ferrel cats wandering around, very sad. Paradise Beach was a disappointment, the beach chair and umbrella rental was 10 Euros, the most expensive we had encountered.
Our room was not as nice and no view and no chance for upgrade as the hotel was fully booked.
