I stayed at the Bali Beach Apartments with two friends for 8 days at the end of Septemeber. I have previously stayed at the Hotel Garbi, which is next door but due to the poor exchange rate and going for the closing parties, we thought we would stay somewhere cheaper. The apartments consist of a small block of just 8 apartments on two floors. We were on the top floor with a side view of the beach (they are right on the beach front). Upon arrival, early hours of the morning, the place was deserted - unbeknown to us, you have to check into the main Jet Apartments reception which is down the street. First impressions of the apartment at 1.30am were positive, spacious, very clean and tidy and good facilities. Somewhat traditional in decor, but that's to be expected. The bedroom had twin beds and the bed in the lounge was already madeup for us. The downside to the Bali Beach is that the block looks awful from the outside, compared to neighbouring buildings, it looks really dated and could do with a lick of paint. The pool is tiny and wasnt used by anyone. Fortunately, the beach was less than ten metres away. Also the balcony was a bit small, but having said that the front apartments had bigger balconies than the side ones. They did have a small restaurant but we didnt try it - although the smell of fried food and fish did waft up the block stairs.
The location of the apartments are ideal for the nightlife in the area (not far from Bora Bora or Space). Can't really comment on the service of the staff as apart from the cleaner, we didnt have any dealings with anyone. It was also very quiet, we only saw other guests on one day so even though in a party location, we could still get our sleep when needed.
All in all, generally good apartments but I've stayed in better. I wouldnt go back as I would definitly return the Hotel Garbi next time.
