“Comfortable serviced apartments right on the beach.”

The residence has an excellent location, on the Playa d'en Bossa, which you can directly access. This is the main quality of the Tur Palas. Not to mention the nightlife all around! The Space is at a stone's throw.... Rooms are of average quality, nothing great, but the price is not crazy! Moreover, they are more than enough for a short time for which you will use them (just to get some sleep in the morning, after spending all day at the beach and all night in pubs and clubs!).

“Ok if you're just staying for a couple of days.”

This place is cheap, so you can't expect the earth and it depends on what you want. Myself and a friend stayed for 2 nights. We'd come out specifically for the Be Closing Party, so as it was a short trip we wanted the cheapest option!

I'll talk about the good stuff first!
I actually found the reception staff quite helpful. Having said this, there was a different person on reception each time I went down, so I suppose it depends on who you speak to! I booked through booking.com and thought I had paid for the room when booking (as I'd put in my credit card details). When we checked in the man on reception (who spoke good English) said I needed to pay the full amount. I said I thought I'd already paid. He was fine about it and said if I could show him a receipt by the morning that was ok. I checked with my bank and no money had gone out of my account. Booking.com take your credit card details for info purposes only (so bare this in mind when booking). I paid the next day and they were fine with me.

The pool area is really nice and looks out onto the sea.

Now for the not so great stuff!
Our room wasn't dirty but did smell a bit musty.

The lock was very stiff. In order to open the door you had to turn the key whilst banging the door with your hip. It would often take us 5 minutes to open the door as it was so awkward (and yes this was when sober)!

In our room the aircon was on as soon as we walked in (maybe left on from last guests). It was set to a freezing temperature and was too cold. There was no remote or any way of turning it off or down. I kept going out on the balcony for a warm!

When I had a shower, the tap handle came off in my hand!

The lock on the balcony door was broken.

Room Tip: It would be nice to get a sea view room (not sure if this is more money though).

“Think twice before you stay here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

Not one normally to review and usually think that those giving bad feedback are a grumbling few BUT the service here was terrible!
Didn't get the set up of rooms we asked for and one in our group had to sleep on a couch.
We had to ask 3 times for bedding and towels and in the end the girl on the front desk had to call her manager to verify it was okay?! (Even after we'd handed over 800€ and they'd taken copies of all 6 passports).
You also have to deposit 50€ for the aircon remote - not a couple (as suggested in another review).
The hot water didn't work for the first day we were here.
The staff are rude and unhelpful. We were a bilingual group so lack of english was not the barrier.
The saving grace is the pool area (funnily enough, run by a completely separate business) - so if you do take a gamble and stay here try and ensure you get a room overlooking the pool with a sea view.

“Great location for the price”

In my opinion, you can't expect to get a 5 stars hotel when you are paying very little. This hotel is not the best place I've ever stayed but it wasn't THAT bad as other people make it sound either.
The AC issue, it works but you have to request the remote control and I believe they charge you a couple of Euros. This hotel, is actually self catering apartment style, so no, you won't have someone changing your towels every single day and making your bed. And no, you wont find a mint on your pillow.
This is a great place if you come to Ibiza to party, we're a couple in our late 20's and stayed there twice. Once in 2009 and another time in 2011, the front desk were very friendly and yeah, they're English was lacking but this is Spain after all.
Below (as by the hotel pool) you'll find a hot spot for the evenings, Buddha bar. When we first one in 2009 it was low key quite place, after some renovations by 2011 it became a hot spot in Plaja D'en Bossa. The pool is nice and clean and the front desk very friendly, their only "fault" might be not be 100% fluent in English but they try hard to make themselves clear and to understand you. Also, this hotel is right next to the famous Bora Bora and walking distance to Space, Usuahaia (overrated place, but that's another issue) and tons of bars. The beach is great and the people beautiful.
We would definitely go back there to Tur Palas :) Enjoy!

“Spanish Faulty Towers”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011 via mobile

Ok so it's pretty cheap and in a great spot. Although the guy on reception only speaks selected English and is the most unhelpful and miserable chap I've ever come across.
The rooms are dirty and the air con doesn't work. GIVE IT A MISS !
The Ebano is the same price but much nicer and only a 5 minute walk.
