“Inconvenient hotel!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

This was our 2nd time, and it was awful. We were here beginning of September 2010 and 2011. It got WORSE. Please disregard my 2010 review. It changed too much.

We had a great room, suit with a view on the beach. BUT considering all the "minuses" the room could Not make up enough for all the other faults.
1) To make a telephone call from room - make a deposit! Even to local number!
2) No room service, AND no drinking water in the room.
3) The fridge was not working
4) The water in shower didn't go away
p.3.+p.4 Please bear in mind that suits were recently renovated. It still didn't work.
5) The food in restaurant was awful, it deteriorated by 1000 times since last year. BUT the price was on same very high level! The price of salad 12-15 EURO in Garbi beach restaurant, and same price in Ushuaia beach restaurant, but in Ushuaia you get delicious meals. Ali-oli also got worse.
6) Towels - require deposit.
7) Safebox - require deposit AND rent payment!!!
8) TV channels only in GERMAN!!
Horrible, tacky deckchairs on the beach. They are also not very comfortable.
9) WIFI connection - NOT STABLE!! And they could NOT help to fix it anyhow. I asked them 5-10 times. Wifi is very important for my work, so this was a breaking point for decision to change location and never come back.

The only positive thing about hotel is the staff at reception and the manager Tony, they are Honest people. As we stayed for 1st week at Ushuaia, and then we moved to Garbi for 2nd week, as it was planned so preliminary. We checked in at garbi, and considering all the inconvenience which we faced at Garbi, we moved out the next day from Garbi to Ushuaia. Since our stay at Garbi was 100% prepaid via bank swift to Garbi's account, they returned the difference of unused nights upon our return from holidays from their account to mine.

“Clean Modern Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

Had a great stay at this hotel for 12 nights at the end of September/start of October. Check in at 2am was quick and no hassle at all. Staff where nice and helpfull. Room was spacious finished well. Nice small empty fridge to fill with drinks etc. Air conditioning in the rooms. Only negative is the double bed which is 2 single beds pushed together.

Pool area was nice and spacious although could be a problem to get a decent sunbed at times. Never ate at the hotel so could not comment on the food. There is a nice bar on the beach although it is dead in the evenings.

Located in a busy area in the middle of Playa den Bossa, minutes walk from everything. Would highly recomend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the pool and beach

“Fickle staff!”

We only went for lunch, so I can't comment on the hotel, other than to say it looks nice from where we were sat. Very friendly staff on arrival and a nice looking menu. When our food arrived it was greasy, overcooked and covered in rock salt - inedible. We toyed with the idea of forcing it down, but decided to politely point out that it wasn't good to the previously friendly waiter. What a transformation! He snatched the plates away, disappeared and returned with the bill which he slammed onto the table with a "nobody else has complained". Thankfully we weren't charged for the food, but it was a shame after yet another brilliant year in Ibiza to end on such a sour note.

“Excellent value for short break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Stayed 12 October for 3 nights, booked room on Travel Republic 3 nights half board for £230, flights Ryanair £50 return per person from Stansted. The hotel is lovely, situated right on the beach. It's very modern and well maintained, I would say that the hotel pictures don't do it justice. The pool area is lovely, it is a few paces from the pool to the hotel beach restaurant. The staff here were always smiling and helpful. The beach outside the hotel is clean with sun beds and parasols for hire, 7 euros per bed and parasol. The hotel has it's own tapas bar at the front of the hotel, again very modern with nice staff. The food in the main restaurant is buffet, omelette chef for breakfast, usual English/continental choice, evening freshly cooked choice of meat, always plenty to choose from. Only niggle here would be the time it takes for plates to be cleared. Our return flight was not until mid evening so our party of 4 decided to keep on one of our rooms until 7pm. It cost 60 euros to keep 1 room on, felt this was expensive, but price was not negotiable. However, after some discussion the hotel offered to include an evening meal for our party of 4 in the price. Due to the time of our visit the immediate area was very quite, quite a few bars shut down for the winter so not much choice outside hotel. We did walk into the old town, took about 40 minutes, nicer bars here, but again due to time of year very quite. The weather was beautiful, high 20's just perfect for our short break. Due to the proximity to the airport it's easy to become a plane spotter, but the plus is as it is so close to the airport the taxi fare is only 10 euros. The airport would be a lot busier in the summer and the constant air traffic would be too noisy for us, but would probably go unnoticed for the partygoers! Would not hesitate to recommend hotel.

“Beautiful and modern hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

My husband and I and another couple stayed at this hotel at the end of September for two nights. From the moment we got there, we fell in love with the decor. The staff at the reception desk were very friendly but the staff at the bar and various restaurants weren't the best.
We had two beautiful rooms with a lovely balcony right on the beach. The view is fantastic. Our room was very spacious with a nice seating area, large bathroom and fabulous shower with a rainwater shower head. This was quite the lovely change from the various hotels (6 others) we stayed at during our European vacation.
Breakfast was included in our stay and the breakfast buffet had a vast variety of selections. We never had dinner at the hotel but lunch there was lovely. The staff was not very friendly but adequate. Bar service at the hotel was slow. It was much better to wander around to the many bars in the area to get a decent drink.
The beach was not too crowded when we were there and we were able to get beach chairs/umbrellas without any problems. I cannot remember the cost of the chairs but I don't remember them being significantly overpriced. The beach towels were provided by the hotel for a cost of 22 Euros a piece. If you returned the towels you did get your money back. I was not used to this as I've never experienced this at a hotel in the states.
The internet service was less than ideal with it only worked in our hotel room. We brought this up to the front desk and assured us that the WIFI would work in the bar/restaurant area but we tried it on several different computers/wireless devices and it never worked. Other hotel guests also complained of this during our stay.
Despite the improvements that could be needed, I would stay at this hotel again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Rooms 117 and 118 have the best views of the beach on the first floor.
