lovely clean hotel if not a little dated, we arrived just after midnight to be welcomed by the older night shift gent and his cat, we checked in and were left to find our rooms as the staff seem to know little English this did prove a little difficult at times.
the hotel does have free wifi in the bar area but you need to ask for the code something that we didn't find out till the day we left after the kids had spent about 50 euro in the internet cafe. the room rate for the week was about 20 euro.

we were told by the reps that this would be the last week of the shops and resorts being open including the water park. this was not the case and this ended up with us having a group of very unhappy kids as that was the main reason for us stopping on this side of the island, the hotel was booked because we were told there was entertainment even in low season, this consisted of two pub singers one on monday one on weds when we left, a wild bird show twice ( no show just people asking if you will pay 10 euros to have a photo with a parrott or an owl. ) needless to say the kids were a little board.

the hotel itself is self enclosed with metal gates to keep the kids in, the gates were closed at half 8 and only opened from inside making if possible to let the kids go and play on the swings and slide extra down the side of the hotel, the pool table was a god send as was the option of letting them play the playstations for 2 euro for 40 mins.

the pool was cold, they constantly pump cold water in the only time it was warm was when the pool lights were turned on after the life guard went of duty, there was a life guard on duty between 10-6 each day and the bar staff keep an eye on the kids if they venture towards the sea, we saw them do it several times.

the food at the hotel is some of the most reasonable in the resort, ranging from 6-8 euro for a meal and a pint, breakfast as others have said range from 3-6 euro with a cuppa.
the meals were lovely and varied but the bar price like everything else on the resort was high
we got 10 ice creams at the supermarket ten mins down the road for the cost of one at the bar.

the staff during the day ( the blokes behind the bar) seamed more interested in talking to there mates and playing on the laptops to serve, but the lady in the bar and the cleaning staff and the older receptionist were all lovely, but by far the most welcoming is the hotel cat!

the rooms were cleaned twice the week we stayed and we had clean towels each time, only problem was the bins were not cleaned out and there was no where to put our full bins so we noticed ants moving in. the rooms could also do with a little brush so we can get rid of the sand ourselves, i have never seen so much sand, and because it is right on the beach it gets everywhere.
the outside areas were well looked after they hose and sweep all the paths each morning, and the pool is cleaned every morning.

all in all a nice week, the hotel is ideal for borra borra and space as well as the water park all about 5 mins away ( if they were open!) but this really is a ideal hotel for family's as i said the only way to get in to the complex is by one side gate and the beach so you don't have to worry to much about the kids getting out!
i can imagine that in high season it gets loud as the budda hotel is to one side and the jet apartments are to the other side.

room has two single beds and a double/ twin pull out bed, balconey with seats.
dining table, toaster cutlery pans/frying pan, two electric hobs, fridge with a frezer shower and bath, hairdryer in the bathroom and you can have air con for 5 euro. there are extra blankets as well.

make sure to be lovely to the cat if you visit especially if you have a ground floor apartment because he will let himself in and make himself at home.
i also recomend the climb up the hill in sant Joseph, the views from the top are amazing

Went to Ibiza for closing parties in September. These apartments are ideal for Space, Bora Bora and the beach. Breakfast and drinks reasonable and apartments fairly large. No hassle from staff, unlike some Ibiza apartments. Overall a great base to see the island.

Stayed here in sept 2011 with my partner and a friend. When we first arrived the sal rossa looked great, staff seemed friendly enough. This soon changed after the first night.
Staff wernt very interested in anything we had to ask or say but couldn't do enough for older couples/families. Found ourselfs ignored a lot of the time at reception and also at the bar.
Pool area looked great but it is very small. Have no other complaints about the pool, it was kept clean, inflaitables were allowed and always had a lifeguard by the side of the pool.
Cleanliness of the rooms was the biggest let down. Have the feeling that the maids didn't bother cleaning the room because they thought we would be partying. They came everyother day except near the end of our second week they didn't show up at all which meant we had no clean towells for over 4/5 days or sheets. Maids only brushed the floor if we were in the appartment, if we were out they only changed the beds and towells, didn't even as much as give the bathroom a wipe with a cloth! My partner had to try and brush the balcony down with a newspaper. Would be a good idea for sal rossa to leave a brush and pan in your room because the maids don't clean anyway. It was only the older couples or family appartments that the maids cleaned.

Food wasn't great, very basic menu. Mintys large breakfast was supposed to be as the name states a large breakfast, was no such thing. Depends on the cooks in the kitchen the size and quality of the portions of food. Endid up eating out most nights when would rather have just stayed at the hotel to eat.
Overall would not recommend sal rossa to a younger party or people that prefer clean appartments. Would deffinitly pay extra for better service even if the location wasn't as good.
