“Excellent animation team”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

Stay : last two weeks of September 2011
Animation team : excellent, in entertainment (shows+bingo+sudoku), sports, games,...
Daniel (from Austria): number 1 presentator (should become chief animator !).
The french animator excellent for pool exercises, the italian for poolsports, the dominican republic guy for salsa...and the rest of the team just excellent .
Hotel is very well situated,at foot distance from ibiza center, Space disco. Airport at 10 minutes by car. Airplanes sometimes disturbing.
All inclusive formula recommended, food OK, international public, Excellent rooms ! Reception desk very professional. Will return probably next year.

Room Tip: Choose higher floor rooms.

“Excellent Entertainment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

Have just returned from a week at this hotel (15th October). This was our first trip to Ibiza, will certainly not be our last. Having read some reviews before departing. address these first. Entertainment, this is very good, As the evenings are now cooler, this is now held inside, so less noisy in rooms. 2 professional acts, both excellent. The remainder by the entertainment was to a high standard, one minor item concerning the prelude to one of the shows which I found insensitive and could easily have been done better (my partner has alzheimers), I expressed my concerns to a member of the entertainment team and hope this will be looked at. I won't go into more details as this could effect other peoples enjoyment. Food, Yes, a limited choice but good for 3 star. I am a fussy eater & always found something to eat, The food was often not very warm, though strangely the Bratwurst as breakfast was always hot, Bacon in general was overcooked, ok is you like crispy, for some reason the right hand side of the tray was less well done! If you would like the food a little hotter, their is a microwave hidden at the rear of the drinks machines. Staff at the bars were normally helpful, the hotel at present is only half full. Water is freely available in bottles (AI). Always use this to clean your teeth, the water in the taps is salty. Sunbeds. plenty available as hotel not full. most of the guests were German but very few towels left on sunbeds, does this destroy the myth? Rooms, Ask for a high floor, these are certainly the best, we were very lucky & had beach front with large balcony complete with table & chairs plus 2 sunloungers, a airer was provided on request. If your going out for the day & are on AI, a packed lunch can be provided if ordered at reception before 8PM the night before. With regards trips, I would have liked to advise you, but Thomas Cook cancelled the one I booked at 7PM on the night before, not very clever!! No wonder I don't normally book with the tour operator. Aircraft noise, yes there is some, but I never heard it in the room when windows were closed. Weather was great for October, got to 32C in shade one day, the aircon is free when needed. Be aware that there are no lifts, so could be a problem if you lack mobility. We will certainly be returning to this hotel.

Room Tip: Request high floor.

We have been going to this hotel for 26yrs,and this looks like being the last.Playa den bossa is now the new san antonio hated it .The clientele in the hotel has changed to drunken louts and party goers. This was once a wonderful family hotel with excellent staff and great food .But now even the food was undesirable ,never in my 26yrs of visiting this hotel have i given a bad review, always recommended to family and friends .this resort and hotel are going down hill fast.We feel very sorry for the manager marci and all her good staff.

“Very Good Hotel - Club Bahamas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

We stayed at the hotel for the first week in September 2011, my husband and I with our 3 year old daughter. The hotel is situation approx 10 minutes drive from the airport and as long as you don't mind a bit of aircraft noise, which we didn't, it was lovely to just be at your accomodation quickly! We arrived at 11:00am and was told our room wasn't ready, we were given access to store our bags and told to come back in an hour. The room was evenutually ready at 13:30 but that didn't really bother us as we explored the hotel. Our room was on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool, the room was big enough for us 3 with 2 single beds and another bed for my daughter plus an additional pull out bed under hers. There was a tv on the wall with mainly foreign channels but there was sky news and 1 english channel showing childrens tv. The balcony wall was quite high which was good for our daughter but in the evening had to stand to see anything. We were in the block to the right of the pool and you only have the sun in the morning so if you want to sunbath then I suggest you ask for the opposite block. The only other down side to being on the 2nd floor was there are no lifts so you have to lug your bags up the stairs. The rooms were cleaned every day and if they could't get in to your room in the morning they came back in the afternoon - brilliant! The beach is just past the pool down a small path so the location is wonderful! The beach is lovely, there is a beach bar which is part of the hotel but is not included in the all inclusive package! We paid 18 euros for 2 sun beds and umbrellas which is a little steep so only did this the once. The pool area is clean and large with plenty of sunbeds, although we did go in September when it was quieter, people still got up early in the monring and put their towels on the sunbeds to reserve them, but we still managed to find beds to use. You can pay a deposit and have your towels for the week and cleaned daily. There is a children's pool which is not deep and ideal for toddlers and there is a big pool. The hotel keep childrens floats and toys and puts them out each morning so don't buy any. There is a beach bar but the staff have no idea who has been waiting the longest and serve the first person they see which can be totally frustrating so you need to make youeself seen. If you are on all inclusive they don't allow you to have a pint of coke (for example) you have to have halves. The is a menu showing you what is included in the all inclusive and whats not. I discovered on the last day that I could have cava (sparkling wine) but was not on the menu so just ask if there is somthing you would like. The ice cream is also limited on all inclusive and the rest you have to pay for. They have snacks at the pool bars but all incluisve you can only have toasties and hot dogs. There is another snack bar before you get back into the hotel that serve chips which are very nice, this also serves drinks. The third bar is in the hotel and I only ever had to wait a few minutes to be served at any of the bars, so no separate queue for all inclusive which you get at some hotels. The restaurant is very big but does get very hot, we discovered after a few days there is a separate annex on the side of the restaurant which is a lot cooler. You have to go and get your own drinks but again didn't experience any long queues. There are 2 main terminals with the food on and another one 1 for puddings. They have a special meat on each night, and there was a paella one evening. The food was ok nothing special but we found something we liked most nights, the soup was particularly good. The staff were very nice in the restaurant. The breakfast was good, more for the germans I felt but good all the same. The lunch was a smaller version of dinner. You have fridges in your room so can stock up on supplies but as we had a child and went to our room around 11pm we took our drinks to the room and had on the balcony and when we finished just went down for more! There is a supermarket as you come out of the hotel and on the left but is small and expensive. Playa den Bossa is about a 5/10 minute walk and has lots of bars, clubs and shops. The supermarkets are cheaper there. You can also get a bus right outside the hotel to Ibiza Town Eivissa which was only a couple of euros return for all of us and is well worth a visit. The port is magical and I wished we had gone again. Boat trips also leave from Playa den Bossa but ours got cancelled as it broke down. The entertainment staff at the hotel were brilliant, they worked hard all day and night and I could not fault them. There is a different show every night and we enjoyed all of them. The have games and water sports throughout the day for the children and the adults, they were friendly and worked really hard. Entertainment 10 out of 10. There is a hotel kids club (spanish) and tour operators kids club but I think our daughter was a little young, although the club starts at 3 years. There is a small park for children but on sand so we didn't go on it much especially if we were dressed fo dinner! There is a mini golf at the end of the pool which our daughter loved so we did a few times. There is also a games area with pool and games machines etc. Overall the holiday was great and we really enjoyed it the only down side is that we enjoy a walk down the front after dinner but it is more of a road of bars etc, perfect for younger people without children. There is a fair open in the evening in town but we didn't make it as the entertainment for the children in the hotel was just as good. A little train also runs in the afternoon into town and back and I believe this is free. Would recommend going all inclusive and asking for a pool view otherwise you could end up with a view of the road.

Room Tip: Block to the left of the hotel with a pool view! The quieter rooms are closer to the sea.

Hi,i stayed at this hotel for 5 days at the end of September 2011.The hotel is a good 3 star, family's are welcome, and not too noisy!I am a single traveller with kids at home, i like the odd clubbing night out and this hotel is good for just that, and i would happily bring my kids out of clubbing season..Not full of noisy yobs and chavs!Well positioned in Ibiza, end of Playa en Bossa beach, which is great.Dont ever stay over San Antonio , unless your 18 and don't need sleep!or in the middle of Playa en Bossa , i.e jet appts!!The hotel has some faults , like salt water for showers in your room, and i could even taste it in the soft drinks that come out of the pumps in the bars!also i stayed top floor , wouldn't want to stay ground floor , they are very cave like! All inclusive is a must.A trip to Formenterra also a must, only 20 euros return from end of beach!

Room Tip: Dont have ground floor.
