“Very enjoyable and relaxing week”

The week couldn't go any better, my wife and I read reviews before travelling and a bit apprehensive but we were pleasantly suprised.
From the moment we arrived the staff were very welcoming, the rooms were clean and tidy and the food was okay with nice variety, it was repeated some days but then it was only a cheap break and you do get what you pay for although we feel it was better quality holiday than we expected, the pool was cold but clean and well maintained everyday as was the whole complex.
Nice walk to the beach or the shopping centre and there is a market about 800 metres away on a Sunday which is okay.
All in all it was a relaxing week which was exactly what we were looking for, may not be brilliant for families and 2 weeks may be a bit much but we really enjoyed it.

Room Tip: Sun loungers are the usual hard plastic so it is worth paying to hire a mattress for them, about 5 e...

“worth a stay for a cheap quiet holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

we stayed here last June for 1 week all inclusive, given the holiday cost was very cheap it was good for what we paid, reading numerous reviews i was aprehensive about it but it was a pleasent surprise, the accommodation was acceptable, the pool cleaned every day, always staff walking about cleaning and tidying. This isnt a massive complex and seemed were enough sunbeds for the rooms, no mad rush to get one each day!
On arrival lunch had closed and Antonio n his staff were eating but we were allowed to join them and eat, well needed after transfer delays and 1 annoying couple that ended up staying here too!!
Food was edible most days, breakfast the best of the 3, some days we made rolls at breakfast for lunch and wrapped in tissue. drinks were on tap and help yourself for soft drinks, beer and wine, cocktails in the evening were lovely and very good for all inclusive!! Ice cream was also help yourself all day and always a good selection of choice.
we met some lovely people whilst we were there, a few of them return here every year, and to be honest i can see why for the price and what you get it is a good cheap break!
There were 1 or 2 german families and I have to say they were the nicest people, they spoke to us in english, shared use of the pool table etc, and they have been going here for years too, it seems this was previoulsly dominated by germans but it is very much english now with the odd exception.
Costa Calma itself is a very quiet resort, there is a lovely beach 10 min walk away and we ate out a couple of times in a lovely place on the way to the beach.
Most of the excursions are a distance away so we only done the Oasis park, it was good and we decided to leave earlier than the return so paid for a taxi, this was very reasonable and took 20 mins so worth doing if u dont want the 1-1.30 coach trip!
All in all a good relaxing holiday, nothing to do in the evenings but was what we expected, worth a holiday as long as u take it for what it is and not compare to a 5* resort!

Room Tip: We had one occasion when we had seen a cockroach in the bathroom, it was huge, it was sorted very qu...

“First of many”

I have just retired and was looking for somewhere to relax. This was our first all inclusive holiday at the lower end of the market and as such we didn't expect this to be as good as it was. Food was excellent and lots of variety over the week we spent there. All staff were welcoming and seemed like a large family helping each other out.
We found it unusual that we poured our own beer and wine but that made it seem more like home.
I'm 6 ft 5 inch and found the single bed a little small, but after mentioning it to Antonio he arranged for a double mattress to be set up at no extra charge.
If you are looking for somewhere just to chill out then this is the place for you

Room Tip: First floor apartments will provide more access to the sun

“Definately get what you pay for but certainly habitable”

Myself, mum and 5 year old daughter stayed here all inclusive in October. I studied many of the reviews on here myself prior to travelling and feel most of them are very accurate about the food being not great, the pool being rediculously cold and yes there was a tide mark which one day we noticed wasn't there and thought ahhhh, it's been cleaned only to realise it had been topped up with more water and no chlorine in it. The pool area was quite dirty and needed a good pressure wash! All these things aside you won't have been paying much to stay here so you get what you pay for. You get a place to sleep, food to eat and thats pretty much it. If your lucky you will meet some lovely people as we did. There are some positives to althay apartments. Ice cream always available and was really really nice, especially the pistachio one. Lager on tap and help yourself. The rooms at the back were reasonably quiet. about ten min walk to the beach. Some fairly new sun loungers there and you could also pay to hire a mattress for them which was about 5 euros for the week. My little girl really appreciated antonio putting the kiddies t.v on in the reception area in the evening. All in all not a bab week, just not the best. Would i go back, yes - if it had a massive make over and hired a new chef.

Room Tip: rooms at the back are quieter than poolside
