This is quite a unique hotel as others have mentioned. As a result of having individual pods or bungalows the hotel is spread out across a wide area and is vey quiet. In fact although most rooms were occupied the pool area was almost deserted. The gardens were full of desert plants and done in an attractive way. There is even a duck pond!
It is true that some staff only spoke German as a foreign language - this was not a problem for me as I speak enough of the language. However you soon find out who speaks English.
Do you need a car as someone has indicated? Well if you are there for a week I would say not. Obviously if you want to see the island then that is different.
Someone has mentioned that to get to the excellent beaches you need to go down a track. This is not correct - you can walk down tarmac roads and reach the long beach a bit further on.
The food is good and bearing in mind the upgrade price is extremely good value. However the coffee is terrible - maybe it is made the night before, goodness knows.
My view however is that if you really want to relax in a quiet place then this takes some beating.
