“An excellent place to base your holiday in Costa Teguise”

We spent a week here on our first trip to Lanzarote after many happy years of self catering in greek islands, this was luxury! ignore the pathetic negative reviews of this place, these people should experience self catering in Greece to fully appreciate what you get for your money here at Las Colinas. Very clean and very spacious, with wonderful sunsets from our balcony. Of course there is a wind, what else can you expect from an island in the Atlantic Ocean, do your research and prepare for it! The previous comments about the surroundings being like a dump or a building site, it's a VOLCANIC ISLAND!!! The walk into town is a bonus you get some exercise and the gradual slope back up to the apartments is nothing. Although i accept it is not for anyone who is elderly or infirm. I am overweight and not at all fit but I did not find it a problem. The bar on site is a little bit soulless but we id not feel the need to frequent it as we walked out every night. i would definitely go backand stay here again.

My fiancé and I went these apartments as they were cheap and looked nice. We were pleasantly surprised just how big apartment was, cleaned every other day. This is not a four star hotel so I don't know why people are moaning about it, we found it lovely and the people and staff were very friendly. We got the free bus down to the town and either walked back or got a taxi back which only costs 3 euros, The Cavern was a fantastic pub with lots of entertainment on at night, they also showed four different football games at the same time which really pleased my fiancé. Overall I would deffinately go back again, it was the best holiday we've ever had and we met the most wonderful people there. Thank you for a great holiday and wonderful memories x

“wind tunnel”

We spent a week here at christmas and would never go back. When we arrived there was a family having trouble with reception because they hadn't been booked in. In the end they had to go somewhere else. There is nothing between the hotel and the mountain which means it is constantly windy and cold, which is ok for drying your washing. There are 2 swimming pools and never once did i see anyone in them. Every couple of days some guy hosed the tiles down and washed all the dirt into the pools. The apartment was very big and roomy but very worn. It was cleaned a couple of times during the week. The beds were a joke - two camp beds pushed together and two headboards from two different beds wedged against the wall. They were very uncomfortable, we had trouble getting to sleep at night and in the morning we were very sore. We had to pay a deposit for the tv remote control and for the safe which we never got back because the receptionist hid out of the way when a lot of people were leaving, causing everyone to lose their deposits, he probably pocketed the money himself. We only had one drink in the bar, it was very small and noisey, it had one pool table and too many kids fighting over it. The sorrounding area was disgraceful and looked like a dump or a building site and the morning we were leaving a man came running out in his underwear screaming that the building was falling down and big cracks were appearing all over the walls, the staff tried to quietly shoo him back to his room while alarms were going off all over the place. We timed ourselves walking briskly into the town centre and it took us a half hour which is murder coming back as it is all uphill. I would never go back here and cant understand why anybody else would. The only good point was that the room was clean.

“Good for the price”

My party had 4 studio's & a 1 bed apartment. All overlooked the pool and were massive and mostly good other than a few loose fittings etc. Bar was small but staff very friendly and there's a happy hour daily from 6-7. Pool area very quiet with plenty of sunbeds available. The walk to the bars and sea isn't as bad as some of the reviews say, it's not much of a hill and takes 15 - 20 mins. There is a courtesy bus 3 times a day from reception down to the resort. Although not 4 star these apartments are very good for the price.

“The best bit..........Leaving!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

My wife and are really not fussy travellers and honestly I will try to give these apartments the most balanced view I can!!

We had previously stayed at the paradise a number of years ago however we spent most of our time around the Colinas pool. As we wanted a last minute break we decided on Las Colinas as we had liked the look of them.

We arrived late evening and as reception was closed we had to pick our key up from the bar. We were given a sheet of paper with some details and directed to apt 26. Ground floor, onto the rear car park with a view of the sea from between a huge pile of rocks and the neighbouring apartments. I had made a request for a pool view however we were unlucky....but never mind.

Location-

A lovely and easy 15 minute walk from Playa Bastian beach and the centre of Teguise.

The pool area is lovely. It is usually very quiet however I would agree with others re the fact that there are still broken beds. In addition I would question how often the pool was cleaned.

The room-
HUGE.............excellent size but nothing in it. Truly you wouldn't believe for how big the space was, how little furniture and appliances there were to fill it. They could make the rooms so comfortable, however they are not. And I know that you are not in the room much, but when you are, you like to be comfortable. The patio was extremely small again for the size of the apartment and the size was further limited as there was an air conditioning unit plonked in the middle of it. The television is coin operated. I have been fortunate enough to travel the world and not seen this.It costs 1 euro for 50 minutes. We hardly used it and so it didn't bother us, however if you were a family with kids I would be a little cheesed off having to fill it.

THE BEDS-
Awful, Awful, terrible, terrible, horrible. They were a total nightmare. We agreed that we had never slept on anything so hard in our lives. It was like sleeping on a concrete floor. Truly it was. I thought we would get used to them however after 6 nights of litteraly no sleep and suffering sleep depravation, I had to speak with reception. I have to say that the English receptionist was very sympathetic and tried to resolve the issue by asking staff to supply softer matresses to put on the ones we had. We tried.... really we did, but they were smaller than the beds and smaller than the mattresses they were put on. When put together it look like a three tiered wedding cake. And we were about 5 foot off the ground. I looked at my poor sleep deprived wife and thought what are we doing? I decided to cut our losses.

Within 2 hours we had left and booked into the Grand Teguise Playa on the beach for the next 5 nights. Bliss. The bed was heaven!!

It's the old adage, you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Higher floors and not Apt 26
