This was my second holiday after being on Fuerteventura for two weeks, we stayed here for three weeks in December to January 2012. Read my other review on Oasis Dunas Fuerteventura
The Hotel staff are quite friendly and try to please you with almost any request however!!!
We purchased new clothes for the holidays, some designer ones only to have a massive amount accidently thrown out by an over enthusiastic maid, whether that’s what happened I will leave that for you to decide, but they were all new and expensive. The hotel would only give us 50% of the value stating it was our fault for leaving them on the bathroom floor in a washing bucket. Disappointing.
The pools are immaculate and clean, as well as safe, with two life guards. Get out before 6am or you won’t get a sun bed I have never seen a hotel with such arrogant people whom cover the beds and don’t turn up until lunch time, then only stay for an hour after covering the beds back up. I used to just walk up with my family and systematically remove eight towels from the beds and use the beds. But one had to do this daily, one day we counted 70 beds covered with towels disgraceful. The bottom pool is heated and very welcoming. There is a bar situated by this and the children’s pool. The life guards are very keen and professional. These apartments are time share as well, this shows as 50% of the holidaymakers are residents within the complex and one gets the feeling its very very clicky to say the least, some of them think they own the island.
The bar well I can only describe it as a nursing home, the entertainment is actually worse than a nursing home I know because we owned one for 25 years. There are numerous singers on that wouldn’t get passed security in a nut house its terrible, there are very rarely more than four five people in the bar at night.
I speak fluent Spanish and don’t normally let on to the fact but one morning I had to stop a maid pounding my family with insults I will not repeat on here what she said but management had strict words with her explaining to her that I had a Spanish tongue as well, very embarrassing on her behalf and we never saw her again. Most of the staff are Romanian including management, life guards and most of the cleaners, just thought I would mention that, you will probably get the drift when you land there. Rooms are basic but ok plus you can get wifi in your room for a fee.
Outside the complex is brilliant try to stear away from the English bars with the drag acts on, especially if you have children, very seedy and filthy. If you have kids with you take them into the main square or down to bar Iguana free park and stuff for the kids.
Eating out cant come any cheaper we ate out every night and a full Chinese buffet all you can eat with drinks 22 euro for a family of four unbelievable try Jumbo very nice, my kids had 8 to 10 deserts plus fruit and ice cream all for three Euros including a full buffet. Drinks in general are half the price of Fuerteventura. Stunning safe beaches, the best fishing I have ever done abroad, big boys off the piers. If you have kids take them down to Lanzarote Gardens hotel on a night but get in at 7.00pm or you wont get a seat fantastic entertainment and only a five minute walk from the Oasis. Would I go back yes to the resort, but never to Oasis Lanz not even if I won it.
Room Tip: look for a different complex
