We booked this holiday through travelsupermarket.com & low cost holidays. It wasn't quite a last minute deal but for two people we spent around £750 overall s/c for two weeks in August. If you had to pay much more than this I probably would not recommend this place as for slightly more cash I think you can get better.
On arrival at around 19.00 we had to get our keys from the bar upstairs something which wasn't that clear. There was a sign on the outer door but not on reception. On finding the apartment on the third floor (something we had requested) we were quite impressed as after reading some reviews we were expecting the worst place ever. However the fridge had been turned off so there was a quite a bit of water on the kitchen floor. It wasn't the best start to a holiday but it only took a few minutes to sort out.
The apartment was large enough for two people and as we planned on not eating at the apartment we found the lack of a proper kitchen not really a problem. On this point you only get a two ring hob. Everything else can be rented but the rental charges for certain items looked quite high. If you planning on cooking I'd suggest you book elsewhere.
The bedroom consisted of two single beds which we had to push together. The headboards weren't fixed to the walls or the beds so we had to be careful not to let them fall over. The wardrobe was just about big enough for two lots of clothing but I'd imagine if you took a family that it could be too small.
The bathroom wasn't that great. The shower was weak and the bath enamel paint was peeling off.
The room was regularly serviced with clean towels & toilet roll and the cleaners always did a pretty good job.
The best part of the apartment was the large balcony. It caught the sun all day, it was kept fresh by the wind and the views were very good all the way to the sea and mountains on the other side.
The apartments did not have air conditioning or ceiling fans. You can rent fans at an extra cost, but we always try to acclimatise to the heat and tend to find in a day or two that it is not a problem.
The pool area always seemed clean and everybody that did use seemed to enjoy it. We found it a little busy for our tastes so we went down to the beach on most days as you always find a quiet spot - the sun loungers on the beach were about 5 euros.
The bar on site seemed ok, we only went in the once but a few people we spoke to seemed to like it there. If you timed you drinks right over Costa Teguise you could always find a happy hour or euro bar offer on.
Costa Teguise itself struck me and my partner as slightly run down, certainly near the apartments. It was clean enough though and we only saw a few roaches - in this climate there will always be a few bugs. I didn't see single ant or roach in the apartment complex. It looked like the recession and lack of customers had hit some bars/restaurants quite hard and there were quite a few empty shop buildings. The first night we got there we went in about 4 bars around the apartments. One bar had one customer in it and it could have probably fit about 50 inside. Saying that we enjoyed for the most part 'The Swan' for a little bit of football and a light snack. 'Legends' was ok if your into karaoke and that type of thing. 'Ferrari's' bar was our one stop for English breakfast/toast (1 euro) with very friendly service. The most enjoyable bar/pizzeria near the apartments was 'La Otra' which seemed to attract mainly Spanish people. The pizzas were great, the atmosphere was relaxed and the waitress (and all other the staff) there was great. The waitress helped us with a few spanish words and phrases and was really friendly. It was really the only place which didn't feel like England near the apartments.
Elsewhere there were plenty of places to eat and drink all within walking distance. You could find almost anything you want in Costa Teguise - even though there was a serious lack of Spanish eateries. One restaurant we went served very nice fish and paella but even they called themselves an Italian restaurant. I hope to review some of the other restaurants in a separate piece.
Overall the apartments were ok, they had pretty much everything you need for a holiday in the sun. At the right price I would recommend them. Overall Costa Teguise with its nice breeze, cheap prices for food and drinks, and almost all year round good weather is a place that whilst it has plenty going for it, I can't say that I'd especially like to go back to. It simply didn't have enough of a Spanish feel - but for a cheap last minute holiday I'd recommend it.
One last point, all of the sightseeing tours we went on were very enjoyable but if you have a problem with heights I'd stay away from them and instead rent a car. That way you can pick and choose exactly what you want to do.
