This is our second time at the Sol Apartments, the first being a year ago, both times in October. We were told that the Sol had changed hands recently hence the changes. Since last year the apartments have been re-furbished with flat screen TVs (this time we didn't have a coin meter but had to pay 15 euros for a remote control if we wanted English TV - very limited channels so unless you watch a lot of TV on holiday I wouldn't recommend it). The kitchen had been replaced - hob, microwave, fridge - although we ate out every night so didn't need it and the furniture was all new. The beds were really soft. The bathroom was much the same. Cleanliness was faultless, spotless upon arrival and cleaned regularly with fresh towels, sheets etc. We came as a group of two couples, we had a ground floor apartment overlooking the pool, the other couple had a top floor apartment with amazing views and a huge private balcony. Would recommend the BBQ on a Thursday afternoon for 6 euros which includes a beer - delicious and you get plenty. We were disappointed that they had shut down the bar (upstairs) but the pool bar was still there. The Sol Apartments are brilliant value for money and we will definately be returning next year.
We have been coming to Costa Teguise now for about 8 years and always found plenty to do at night - however this time it was very quiet - Legends cancelled a lot of acts which was disappointing as we have always enjoyed the entertainment there - also there was no DJ (Mike) - although we tracked him down at Jesters, and no Kareoke. The quiz nights were fun though, apart from that it was just football and X-Factor.
Cactus Jacks was good for evening entertainment - new and familiar acts, quizzes and disco later on.
Because of the lack of entertainment at Legends we ventured further afied to Jesters and Cayotes - none of which were very busy but enjoyable.
We made the mistake of trying to get into Club 55! Mistake - it is a Brothel .... oooops - from the outside it looks like a night club.
The Sunday Market was worth the visit - we did it through Legends - 10 euros each which included a Sunday dinner.
Other places worth eating at are the Chinese restaurant near the beach - eat as much as you like for £5 - and you get a bottle of shots in interesting glasses ..... There's a big sports bar on the front which do a lovely steak 3 course meal for 10 euros too - we never had a problem with finding anywhere decent and inexpensive to eat all week.
All in all, another very enjoyable holiday at the Sol, well worth the money and we will definately be back!
Room Tip: The top floor apartments (back) had fantastic views over the sea with private huge balconies - howev...
