“I'll be back...!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2012 NEW

Returned yesterday (29/5/12) after one week's holiday in the Vitalclass. We just loved the place. Very quiet and peaceful. As we don't have kids, it suited us to be in a complex that isn't kids orientated. Oh such peace - wonderful. The apartment was well laid out with a separate kitchen, good sized bedroom, bathroom and living room.

There is a 'fancy' shower but sprayed more water around the bathroom than anything else so we didn't bother with the 'fancy' settings!!!

There is a massage chair in the living room but we didn't use it much as we didn't spend very many evenings sitting in watching tv (only English speaking channel was CNN). There's a dvd player - we brought a few of our own dvd's but didn't bother to watch them either.

The beds have memory-foam mattresses - get into them and you don't want to get out!!!

The kitchen is adequately equipped with toaster, coffee maker, kettle, fridge, 2-ring hob but no microwave. We didn't cook, just had the odd snack, cup of coffee or glass of wine in the apartment. We had booked half board and I had told my partner that we would eat in two maybe three times and I had my list of restaurants I wanted to eat out in (Las Maretas, Oscars and El Navarra) but after dining in the hotel restaurant on the first night, we decided it would be hard to NOT eat in every night and that's exactly what we did....!!!!

We just loved the food, the buffets were super and there was a counter where you could order a freshly cooked pasta dish, indicating what exactly you wanted added to it and plenty of raw meats, chicken and fish that were cooked to order. Breakfast was excellent - a nice fresh fruit platter, fresh orange juice, loads of cereals (and porridge for himself!!), buffet of cheeses, pates and cooked meat and also the counter where you could order your omelette, crepe, fried bacon or whatever they had to offer on the day. Lots and lots of healthy food but it wasn't 'in your face' healthy!!!!

There's an indoor heated swimming pool, spa area & gym. I only used the spa once but to be quite honest it was too nice outdoors to want to spend any time indoors!!!

Last but not least I have to mention the staff. They were incredible, especially Antonio and Johanna in the restaurant. They just couldn't do enough for us. The reception staff accommodated us with the apartment that suited our needs.

Points to note - this is a newly refurbished hotel and as a result may have an odd teething problem. For example, we had a breakdown in email communication before booking and I had to phone the hotel. No a big problem and easily resolved.

May is a quiet month for holiday makers and last week was very quiet at the hotel but very quiet in general in Lanzarote.

The location of the hotel is not ideal but don't let this put you off.... 12 minutes walk to seafront walk and 15 minutes to Playa Bastion beach. We had a hired car and there's plenty parking right outside the hotel.

I would have absolutely no problem in recommending this hotel to anyone who wants a really relaxing, peaceful holiday. I will definitely be returning to the Vitalclass on my next visit to Lanz. I rate it miles better than anywhere I stayed before (Santa Rosa, El Guarapo, Lanzarote Gardens, El Palmeral, Playa Galeon). I wish them every success.

“relaxing”

Just returned from this hotel, We stayed for a week, we booked self catering due to a dietary requirement. The hotel is certainly not self catering. I would say tho the resturant there is lovely - clean and spacious and loads of choice of healthy food, with a cooking station where they cook food fresh for you.

The staff were fine, and helpful if you asked for anything

I was expecting the spa and gym to be incuded in the price I paid, as I askd my travel agent before I went, this was not the case and I needed to pay 10 euros a day extra to use the facilities. The outdoor pools were cold as it was only march.

I would say the decor of the place is fine, the apartments were spacious. The shower really is not as fabulous as the website makes out, but it works, the TV only has 2 english channels, there is also a dvd player - for you to take your own dvds. There is a 'massaging' chair - which we did not find relaxing - but you might. The beds were comfortable with memory foam matresses. I would say the outside balcony was fab - where I spent most of my time!

It was not in a great location, I would have prefered to stay in an area closer to the water - there is not much beach in this resort so its most poolside relaxing, its a really quiet resort and from local knowledge I would have prefered to stay in puerto del carmen

“An excellent relaxing week.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2012

Just returned (31st March) from a lovely week at the Vitalclass. Having been dumped 1 week before departure by the apartments we had booked (not impressed with the Santa Rosa), the Vitalclass was a hurried choice as we had little time for research.

What a good choice it turned out to be. The hotel has recently been refurbished and the soft furnishings in the rooms were bright and cheerful, furniture was light wood. Beds were comfortable with decent duvets and pillows and crisp, white linen. Bedroom could have done with a light over the dressing table.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment which was spacious with separate kitchen area. Only basic items in the kitchen but included a kettle and toaster and large fridge.

We stayed on a half board basis and the selection of food at the buffet each day was very good. There was a call order bar both at breakfast and dinner for freshly cooked eggs, bacon, meat or fish. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and the fresh fruit platter in the morning excellent. There was plenty of healthy eating choices. Antonio and his team looked after us well in the restaurant - thank you. One of the wines served was El Grifo, a local vineyard, excellent wine and the price was reasonable - 12 Euros a bottle. The drinks were reasonably priced.

There was a large sunbathing area with 2 pools and a paddling pool. Plenty of sunbeds, could do with more umbrellas though if the pool was busy. While we were there the pool area was very quiet most of the time. When we arrived on Saturday there was a Spanish singles group booked in and had taken over most of the pool area. Whilst high spirited there was no bother and they went out in the evening. We did not hear them come back in the early hours - not sure that our British groups would be as quiet!!

The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the main area of Costa Teguise which is a struggling resort with several empty shop units. A 5 minute walk through the cactus garden to the nearest supermarket for the paper.

The management of the hotel were visible, checking on things in the restaurant and making a few changes. I would suggest that the dishes need little signs, and that outside the restaurant a few large umbrellas be added to the seating outside.

We did not use the Spa etc as felt relaxed with our daily walk and sunbathing around the pool. Would recommend the hotel as we like a mixed nationality hotel and it was quiet. There was no evening entertainment.

I hope the hotel is successful and we would visit again.

“A really confortable sports hotel where you can both relax and exercise”

I stayed in a 1 bedroom 2nd floor apartment. very well equipped if you wish to self cater- really comfortable bed - very important for me- spacious living area and a good size south facing terrace. all in all a quality apartment.
The restaurant is bright and inviting. Always self service with fresh and healthy food of good quality with good variety , even at lunchtime. . The staff were always pleasant and attended to your every need.
and the sports facilities were second to none. The gym was equipped to a very high standard - best I've seen in Lanzarote, with separate studio exercise rooms. The 25m heated sports pool was superb and this was complimented with saunas, steam room, jacuzzi and even a chill room! Outside there are tennis courts and a couple of unheated pools with more than adequate sitting areas. All in all a superb sports base with all the comforts you expect from a 4* hotel. I will be back!

Room Tip: If you make full use of sports facilities, best to have the rooms starting with 1 or 2
