We stayed here 29/1/12 -5/2/12, our 3rd visit to Costa Teguise but our first staying here, choosing them because of their location. The apartments are OK, first impressions clean & tidy but slightly dated, though the bath was disgusting. There was a piece of what looked like skirting board on the wall with sealant on the top and bottom of the board, but not enough because every time we showered black water trickled into the bath from behind the board. We had read the reviews about having to hire kettles, etc and had taken our own kettle but there was one supplied. By Wednesday night our towels and sheets had not been changed, we went to receptionist asking for them to be changed, we were told they should have been changed on Tuesday (as we arrived on a Sunday), but did not apologise. On Thursday we had new towels (very frayed with holes) and new sheets (again a sheet had a hole in it). Our beds were very very uncumfy, feeling every spring, these definitely need replacing. Our bins were only emptied 3 times during our week’s stay.
We were in Room 338 overlooking the pool & sea (fantastic views). Attached to our room was another room 338E, the connecting door was locked but had its own external door. Somebody stayed in this room from Wednesday for the duration of our holiday, unacceptable as the person in the room had the TV on loud and came back in the early hours, loudly. We enjoyed our holiday and would possibly go back to the apartments again because of their location, though I’d check the rooms first.
TV in the room is coin operated, 1 Euro for 60 mins – OK for Sky News, CNN and Men & Motors but nothing in English.
The resort was very quiet compared to our last visit 2 years ago. A few restaurants had closed which is a shame. This time we went to Casa Blanca (which didn’t seem as good), the Chinese Buffet restaurant next door to Casa Blanca (the food was very salty and cool), The Galleon (which was lovely), the Chinese Restaurant at Pueblo Marinero (near the square where the market is, on a Friday) and best of all El Patio, again at Pueblo Marinero.
The weather was good apart from our last day when we had gale force winds, this didn’t stop us doing anything though, we wrapped up and went for a walk.
Sunbeds are 10 Euros for 2 and a brolly. We went to Puerto del Carmen, shopping. It takes about 35 minutes on the local bus and costs 2.65 Euros each way and the buses run every 20 minutes.
We will definitely be returning to Costa Teguise, as it’s a lovely place.
