Sadly this hotel could be great, but was let down by a lack of staff everywhere. Reception was overrun at check in (there were only 7 in our group) and struggled to cope if there were more than 2 people waiting. There was only one bar open during the day, which was the pool bar and no-one was at the pool because of the bad weather. Bar staff were not the friendliest and were always under pressure. The dining rooms didn't have enough waiting staff either. The food was however, pretty good, being buffet style with lots of choice.
Rooms were cleaned to a minimum, often with things like towels and toiletries not replaced. There was no heating available for the rooms, which were very cold. We were told the heating was being maintained, but there was no offer of portable heating. I accept the weather was unusually bad, but no effort was made to make they stay more comfortable.
Everything was an extra, with a deposit for the beach towels (10 Euros, refunded, but 2Euro charge if you wanted to change), the safe (10Euros for the key and a daily charge of 3 Euros), wifi (25 Euros for a week), the gymnasium (10 Euros refunded, but the key had to be taken back every day), mini-golf (don't know). despite most guests being all-inclusive. The all inclusive is a very basic offer, with lots of drinks not available.
The entertainment was geared to the Spanish, as the majority of guests were on Mundo-Senior holidays (Saga type). This would not have been a problem, but the hotel is very isolated from the main resort, which is a good 30 minute walk away, although there are hourly courtesy buses during the day, but not in the evening.
WiFi was only available at the pool, of all places and kept dropping out. It was certainly not worth the 25 euros they charged for the week.
All in all it was not a good experience staying at this hotel.

Always like to have a week away end of Jan. So glad we did. On arrival at the hotel liked the location and check in was busy but they did their best to get us all sorted. Our room was on the fouth floor overlooking the pool. We found the room a fair size, clean and comfortable, although the shower was a bit hit and miss with the hot water. Food and drink plenty of it the cocktails were too good.... Would stay again.

What an experience of a beautiful hotel, Food, Decor, Ambience,staff, no complaints except one and I hate having to say ' Booking in could have been a lot quicker' Albeit that did not take away from one memorable stay, I will certainly be going back! and look forward to doing so, Thank you Barcelo>

wasnt to sure on my experience here! ... had some lovely food, and lovely pool. wasnt clean at all though , things left around by the pool i.e food and drinks which looked like it had been there for a while, when we had our meeting with our rep on the first day i saw to cockroaches!!! the rep had to go and get the staff which took them ages to sort! .. but on the other hand had an amazing massage on the last day! .. the town nearby which you can get to via a free bus or a taxi , was lovely for drinks and a lovely meal, wasnt much entertainment going on in the hotel, BIG ques when checking in took about 40 mins and we were only 2nd in que and the que went right back, staff were really laid back and didnt seem to bothered, wouldnt go back again, had some good days out away from the hotel, going to see the volcanoes was amazing.

also it isnt near the beach at all we got on a bus during the day and went to near by buses there was no access to the beach which the estate agent said, they said its just down one long road opposite the hotel.but to get to it you have to walk to the town
