“Awful!”

On arrival had to request someone to carry suitcase up 4 flight of stairs. Apartments are big but very sparse. Not enough crockery etc for self catering. No corkscrew, no tin opener, no cutting knives and only 1 saucepan. Took the bathroom tumbler out of it's "sterilized" bag and found it thick with toothpaste inside. The settee was distinctly grubby and was squirming sitting on it.
Dinner in the restaurant was terrible. The soup was from a packet and was just hot water With a couple of chopped carrots basically. Although there were about 6 choices of main courses, they were totally unappetizing. Every dish was cold every day and night. Breakfast, even as soon as the door was opened, was cold. When people complained they were told to heat up the food in the microwave.
Cats were allowed to roam around in the restaurant and when we complained were told that they could do nothing about it.
The evening entertainment was centered round the Spanish element staying at the hotel with Spanish music being played all evening. A 15 minute game of Bingo was the contribution to the other British and German guests.
Requested a hairdryer from reception along with a heater as it was particularly cold and was told there was none left. However, that was rectified after a call to the travel rep. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Room Tip: No good rooms. Hotel is not central and there are no shops nearby for self catering.

“Relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I went with my partner for a week of doing nothing but relaxing. We did just that. The hotel is basic, its clean, comfortable and quiet. I got a cheap deal but would have been happy to pay more, Food is buffet style as are most all inclusives, the selection was not vast and chips were on every day however there was always something different on each night and we never went hungry. Drinks are served in small plastic cups, but who wants a pint of beer that will go warm anyway! I just got 2 drinks at a time. The entertainment was basic, in the day rifle shooting, football and archery were on the list, at night bingo, bird show, line dancing. but is this again not what goes on in most AI hotels.
Its an aparthotel so you get an apartment, ours was on 3rd floor D block it was very spacious with a proper sofa bed, and a separate modest size bedroom with twin beds. We had a large balcony which had sun most of the day. Maids came 3 times during our stay.
There was loads of sunbeds, in fact probably more than you could fit around the pool.
Staff were polite and friendly with the bar staff even getting to know your drinks, did notice that if people were rude to them they would respond in like.
We had a lovely week after a hectic Christmas working. I'm not sure what others expect when they complain, but I could not find any major faults and would book again.

Room Tip: Top floor has bigger balconies, D block

“Better than expected”

After reading the recent reviews for this hotel I was very apprehensive about visiting. It was my first time in Lanzarote and we booked it as a late deal. We have just returned and I found it a very nice hotel. It is a bit basic but it is very clean and the rooms are very spacious. We went all inclusive so the lack of crockery and cutlery in the rooms wasn't quite as frustrating as it would have been if we had been self catering but we did get a fridge in the kitchenette. The food was samey and basic but still found plenty to eat. The resort Costa Teguise is lovely with nice beaches, shops & restaurants and we walked down there most nights which took about 15 mins. All the staff were friendly and helpful. A couple who were staying at the same time found an army of ants in their room and they were moved straight away. The only faults we could find was that the restaurant got a bit busy at times and there was waiting time especially at breakfast, they didn't have enough saucers to go with the cups so carrying hot drinks back to the table was a little precarious and the handles on the tennis rackets looked like they had been gnawed by beavers but apart from that I thought it was excellent value for money.

“A lot more bad points than good”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Good Points:

- staff on reception polite and helpful;
- rooms clean;
- extra blankets & towels available;

Bad points;

- Poor location;
- catering and bar staff ill mannered;
- food of poor quality ( - it is a cheapish place to stay but whatever food is being presented should be of some reasonable standard - this was not - the food wasn't good)
- cannot fill water bottle at hotel - even if all inclusive - my girlfriend was ill one afternoon and required fluids - There were no shops nearby and I had to argue with bar staff and then reception to get a supply of drinking water to take back to the room to her. I was told that our water bottle would be filled just on that one occasion;
- water supply to apartments was cancelled for an entire morning of our stay, without notification;
- shabby buildings and surroundings, grass in a state;
- have to rent a kettle - £5 per week deposit plus £8 a week rental charge - despite the fact they are meant to be apartments;
- no hair dryer in rooms;
- TV in room but no remote control - therefore useless;
- apartments do not have reasonable and basic equipment - e.g., no saucepans/frying pans despite an electric hob, only one ring working on hob. No toaster;
- shower very temperamental when it comes to changing temp;
- stairways to our apartments were not cleaned;
- pool freezing;
- very dull looking apartments;

“nowhere near 3 star for anything”

We were all inclusive at this awful hotel for 10 nights 14th to 24th January 2012.The room was not comfortable very basic 1970s style.The twin beds were institutional and it was very cold at night.The food in the canteen was of very poor quality unless you are addicted to hake in chefs sauce.A complete waste of money dont go.

Room Tip: Change your room to top floor then at least you wont have to listen to people marching around above...
