That was a terrible hotel in a beautifull island. The only reason I chose that hotel was a previous possitive experience with the Louis group. I've been in lodgings, back in the U.S.A. when I were younger, that were better and cleaner than the Helios. Definitely not a "Category A" hotel.
The personell at the reception, bar and restaurant are very polite and helpfull. Sometimes I got the impression that they also felt embarassed that the hotel was not upto our expectations.
Besides that, the only restaurant is small and the menu is an identical buffet, day after day. I was glad I hadn't booked an all inclussive holiday ; Out of the 7 payed dinners (half board), I skipped three and went to Kardamena village instead.
The rooms are renovated and clean, yet the towels were unbelievably worn by long and extensive use.
The ageing pool area is not in a good shape. The pool is very small for the number of tourists accomodated in the Helios. The beach is about 15 minutes walk (nice beach) although the hotel was supposed to be a Beach Hotel!
So, a possitive oppinion for the personell. A negative oppinion for everything else. I would not recomend it!
