“Excellent value”

Visited in may '11 for a chill out week.kalamaki good for a chill out but would recommend laganas for those seeking a more high energy holiday.

The hotel itself is not exactly a luxury hotel but is clean with everything you need for s chill out week. I don't know what it is about Greece but yet to stay in a hotel there with a decent bathroom. Would definitely recommend this hotel though, excellent value for mOney with nice grounds. There is a very obvious way to avoid paying for using the room fridge

“fab family run hotel with fantastic staff”

We stayed at the Roseland in september 2011 for 2 weeks it was our third visit to this hotel. We brought family and friends along as we got married while there. The roseland as usual were very accomodating we phoned ahead of our arrival and spoke to the lovely Vicky who made sure ourselves and our guests had fantastic rooms on the floors we had requested we also arrived to a bottle of wine and card wishing us all the best from the roseland family. All the staff at the Roseland are very friendly and helpful,we ate at the hotel most lunch times and find the food very good and reasonably priced. We have never had an evening meal at the Roseland as we prefer to go out and about to the local tavernas but our guests ate there a few times in the evening and were very impressed. My sister had 2 toddlers with her and although there are not many things there for children the play area pool and lovely beach kept them entertained all holiday. You can also go to other hotels nearby that have mini water parks just for a bit of extra fun.The roseland is very well maintained and is kept lovely and clean. Breakfasts are good and offer alot more variety than when we started going. The local tavernas are really good if you are prepared to walk a little further afield than the main strip, zepos, escape, stanis and michaelos are really good restraunts fantastic food, atmosphere and great value for money. stanis greek night is well worth a visit with dancing and real plate smashing an excellent night out. We held our wedding reception at michaelos as it has such a lovely relaxed romantic feel there, when talking to people in kalamaki locals and holiday makers alike most will tell you this is the resorts best taverna again well worth a visit, beware sometimes you may need to book as it is very popular. We will certainly be going back for our first anniversary, and our friends and family have got the roseland/kalamaki bug and are also planning another visit. Beautiful island, friendly people, excellant food, gorgeous beach, wonderfull hotel just an all round great holiday for families or couples.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are quiter than the rooms facing the car park as these are very noisy ear...

“Amazing family-run hotel...a real gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

We stayed at the Roseland in May for two weeks and had such a lovely holiday that we went back again in October. The family who own it are just so lovely, they make you feel so very welcome, and the hotel is clean and well run. The mattresses were all replaced in May when we were there, and everything in the hotel looks well maintained. A light bulb went out in our bathroom one morning and we meant to report it to reception before we went out but we forgot. When we came back, it had been replaced. That sort of attention to detail makes the difference in my view.
The food was lovely. Breakfast was extremely good- a choice of bacon, eggs, sausages, tomatoes, beans or mushrooms, cold meat, cheeses, bread, toast, jam, butter, marmalade etc., cake, croissants, yoghurt, honey, fruit salad, tea, coffee, apple juice or orange juice. Really, if there was not anything to eat - even for the fussiest eater - I am a Dutchman!!!!
The weather was quite wet a couple of days whilst we were there and we stayed in the hotel for dinner both of those evenings. The food was very good indeed. Although a relatively short menu, the food was well cooked and tasty. I would thoroughly recommend dining there, and the prices were very reasonable, with specials every day. A two course meal from the specials board was as little as 7 or 8 euros. Amazing value for money.
My only reservation in writing this review is that I don't want it to get too busy that I won't be able to book it.

Room Tip: Pool-facing rooms get the sun in the afternoon/evening, not in the morning.

“Friendliest Hotel in Kalamaki”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

The staff, be it from Vikki on reception to the ladies that do that house keeping everyone is friendly, polite and welcoming.
The hotel is always clean and tidy.
Rooms are cleaned everyday and sheets and towels changed every few days.
You do have to pay for the fridge and air con but it's not to expensive.
Though I have never eaten dinner at the hotel - breakfast is included and there are a range of bar snacks at the pool side bar. The food is good quality and reasonably priced.
Many of the rooms are accessed from outside so there are no problems sneaking home late after a night on the strip.
I cannot find fault with anything at the Roseland and would recommend staying there to anyone visiting Kalamaki.

“Nice hotel, great staff!”

We stayed at the Roseland in June 2010. Was a simple and very clean hotel. When we got to the hotel and checked in, my mother enquired about the air con, and was told it started for free the next week, or she had to pay. My parents only came for one week, my husband and I stayed for 2 weeks. We had the benefits of the free air con the next week when it got a bit hotter. The staff were very friendly and always tried to do what they could for us. Asked us every day how our holiday was. Always had a smile for us. Breakfast was a bit bland. Bread/ toast every morning. I expected a cooked meal, like other hotels we had stayed in. It was still nice though. The pool area was very clean and tidy, always had sunloungers. Stani restaurant a bit further down the strip, near the beach was fantastic! Best food by far! Ate there nearly every day, and their Greek night was most fun! Maria's was great for homemade classic Greek food and a lovely lady. A lovely island, Lagana gives this island a bad name!
