We stayed at the Roseland in May for two weeks and had such a lovely holiday that we went back again in October. The family who own it are just so lovely, they make you feel so very welcome, and the hotel is clean and well run. The mattresses were all replaced in May when we were there, and everything in the hotel looks well maintained. A light bulb went out in our bathroom one morning and we meant to report it to reception before we went out but we forgot. When we came back, it had been replaced. That sort of attention to detail makes the difference in my view.
The food was lovely. Breakfast was extremely good- a choice of bacon, eggs, sausages, tomatoes, beans or mushrooms, cold meat, cheeses, bread, toast, jam, butter, marmalade etc., cake, croissants, yoghurt, honey, fruit salad, tea, coffee, apple juice or orange juice. Really, if there was not anything to eat - even for the fussiest eater - I am a Dutchman!!!!
The weather was quite wet a couple of days whilst we were there and we stayed in the hotel for dinner both of those evenings. The food was very good indeed. Although a relatively short menu, the food was well cooked and tasty. I would thoroughly recommend dining there, and the prices were very reasonable, with specials every day. A two course meal from the specials board was as little as 7 or 8 euros. Amazing value for money.
My only reservation in writing this review is that I don't want it to get too busy that I won't be able to book it.
Room Tip: Pool-facing rooms get the sun in the afternoon/evening, not in the morning.
