We have been to Kalamaki several times and always stopped at the Venus Hotel, we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. We love it! it has a warm and friendly atmosphere, we were made to feel like family. Rooms were clean and the staff very friendly...we were well looked after! Will enjoy many more years here!

Myself and my wife stayed in the Venus, last August, and I am pleased to report we enjoyed our time there very much.

The rooms are for the hotels in Zante a bit above the norm, which I can tell you is a small touch of luxury. Fridge in the room, a bath and air con.

You may laugh but these things make a stay very comfortable. There was entertainment nearly every evening, the staff were brilliant, very friendly and helpful.

The hotel as a whole is kept very clean and there is a constant buzz of excitement around there. The breakfasts were fresh and tasty, and again had quite a decent selection.

The rooms were spotless, and are a credit to the staff that clean and maintain them.

The pool area was lovely and there was always plenty of sunbeds, the pool was a decent size and was very welcome hen that Greek sun got too hot.

The poolbar, again spotless clean and a good selection of well made tasty snacks, both hot and cold.

There was a minor blip after we got home when there was a mix up of some kind and Nicos (the hotel owner) e mailed us regarding a negative comment card. It wasn't ours. We explained but I always feel he didn't believe us. They even rang us to find out why we were upset. ( I have to admire this, because if we had a bad stay, they cared enough to find out and to hopefully see if it needed fixing) Again it wasn't us.

We had a lovely stay there and would definetly return and recommend the hotel.

Reading the recent review "Have you got a discount card - No I haven't!!!" - all we can say is - book direct with the Venus Hotel, get your discount card and then you can say with confidence - "Yes we have!!". Simple as that.

We also booked with a travel agent first time round (in 2006), which is how we discovered this gem of a place (thank you so much Thomsons), but were made to feel extremely welcome right from the start, and not treated any differently to anyone else. In fact in our opinion, everyone (whatever the age) is given that ‘extra special’ treatment, which is why the Hotel Venus and Kalamaki stands out from the rest.
It must be remembered this is only a 3 star plus hotel, but certainly has a 5 star heart!!

We are lucky to have two or three holidays a year (generally the Greek Islands) but have stayed at the Venus early summer for the last six years - and we are returning yet again this June.
It's so relaxing and the staff and owners are the most friendly and courteous people you could wish to meet.
Nick and ALL of the team really go out of their way to ensure you have a great holiday, and if you have any issue at all (such as non-functioning fridge), you only have to say and it will be sorted. The point is, sometimes things do go wrong on holiday, it’s inevitable, but you can rest assured that at the Hotel Venus they will be put right, and as quickly as possible.
This is why so many of us return year after year, and are compelled to rate as No.1 on TA with so many excellent reviews.

P.S. The Venus bar still makes the best cocktails ever!

I have been going to Kalamaki since 1997 sometimes three times a year.Even if I have a holiday in a different country I still have to have at least one holiday a year at the Venus.I feel so at home there everyone is so friendly & helpful.I have lost count of the times I have been there.We always meet up with regulars every year ,looking forward to seeing the family & staff at the Venus again this year!
