“Lovely Mexican inn for a relaxing stay in Tlaquepaque”

My husband and I just returned from a short trip to Tlaquepaque, once again staying at La Villa del Ensueno. We loved the generous made to order breakfast and the great margueritas. The Villa has 2 sections-across the street from each other, each with a pool. There are many rooms and suites to choose from, each a little different and many with their own patios. In either part you feel secluded and peaceful listening to singing birds and bubbling fountains. The Villa is a very calm and relaxing place enhanced by lovely common areas, where it is easy to get to know the other guests , if you wish. The staff at Reception were most helpful and accommodating. They even sent someone to pick up the dishes we had bought and then had packed at a local ceramic factory, so that we could make our flight. The hotel is a short walk to the main shopping street, which has many wonderful shops and restaurants, many in converted mansions. We especially enjoyed the mariachi bands at Parian. On Sunday we took a taxi into Guadalajara for about $8 US and walked around the center but found that we missed the easy pace of Tlaquepaque, where we enjoyed being able to walk all over town day or night, although taxis are readily available and inexpensive. I highly recommend La Villa, if you want to stay in lovely, peaceful surroundings with a friendly, caring and highly professional staff.

“Exceed our Expectations!”

We were seeking lodging in the Tlaquepaque-area that would accommodate our family's needs (parents, toddler and infant) along with other extended family also traveling with us in October 2010. Upon emailing La Villa with our needs, we were pleasantly surprised with the quick response from the hotel staff especially Anabel. She was so informative, helpful, and assuring in planning and during our stay. We stayed in the Jr. suite with a kitchenette (upstairs overlooking the dining patio and pool). The room was quiet, spacious and very comfortable (photo 8 and 11 on their website gallery). The water pressure in the bathroom and kitchenette was great. Lots of hot water! Air conditioning quickly cooled the rooms. We were concerned because La Villa is two buildings across the street from each other. Once at the hotel it was no concern. The street is pretty quiet with little traffic. The staff was always ready to provide door service for you. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The pools were clear and water crisp not like a heated pool since they use solar blankets. The kids still loved it! The breakfast service was perfect when you are travelling with a group of 12 with different “wake-up” schedules and tastes. You have a choice of a buffet or menu order or both. As the dining area filled up, the service slowed down a bit but Marta did an exceptional job trying to provide the best possible service. In the evenings, Anabel gave us wonderful dinner restaurant recommendations in walking distance of the hotel. The location of the hotel is fine and we never felt uneasy walking with our children in the evenings and nights. When we visited other parts of the city we were always greeted with a taxi ready to take us to our destination. Anabel provide my family with extraordinary service and went out of her way to help arrange our daugther’s baptism in a local church . . . this in no small feat. We are beholden to her for helping us arrange such a wonderful event. Muchisimas Gracias Anabel and La Villa!

“Excellent service! Great accomodations.”

My family of four stayed here with extended family in October 2010 for a week. We couldn't ask for a better place. Anabel was awesome in helping with reservations and planning for our trip. During our stay we found our rooms above average, beds were comfortable, water pressure good, rooms and surrounding patios and sitting areas were clean. There was always a taxi at the ready to take us anywhere we wanted to go. We walked to the 'town square' with kids even at night, no worries. The breakfast was exceptional as it was a combination of buffet and menu. There were a variety of hot dishes that accomodated us all and we had kids ages 1 through 17 in our group! Marta at the breakfast place was awesome, sometimes services was a bit slow but she was working as fast as she possibly could to serve everyone. The employees here are very much willing to provide excellent service. One example was when a shirt I had used their laundry service for came back not ironed, the front desk attendant came to my resue at 9 pm and ironed it himself and had it ready the next morning for our special occassion! I highly recommend this place, we booked four rooms for our party of 12 and all work out better than we expected! Gracias!

“Feel like you're in Mexico-Beautiful, traditional Mexican decor”

This place is definitely magical. I loved the colors and feel of the place the moment i stepped in it. From the outside you may wonder where you've booked your stay, but once you enter the gates you realize just how enchanting it is. We got complimentary margaritas brought to the patio of our room upon arrival - jalisco is the birthplace of tequila and i have to say it was probably the best margarita i've ever had. i loved having our own patio with a table and chairs - other rooms had patio-lounges with sofas and all. breakfast was good and included in the price of the hotel. the bathroom in the room had a gigantic bath tub which was really nice. We were a few blocks from the center of tlaquepaque which i liked - it was so quiet where we stayed. i highly recommend staying in tlaquepaque as opposed to the center of guadalajara...tlaquepaque is quaint and has great shopping (though slightly overpriced - the tonala market is better), great restaurants, and great bars. there's not much to see in downtown guadalajara. the hotel also has a pool, which i imagine must be warmer in the summer than it was in October when we were there.

“Remarkable Hotel & Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2010

We were treated as family from check-in to check-out. We were upgraded to a suite without asking. It seemed as if we went back in the time of Old Mexico. The hotel is beautifully decorated through out. The gardens were well kept. Our room made us feel as we were home. There was no noise from the outside world. The two pools were kept cleaned. While we were there we had problems with the Mexican customs on a package we needed. The staff spent many hours trying to find the right agency or person to help us from the front desk to the manager. Our rooms were cleaned spotless. We had excellent internet. The morning meals were way much more than the continental breakfast served at other hotels. You had different options or describe what you want and they will fix it. We meet so many different types of people some are business patrons, honeymooners and families. The bar was a very quite setting and the service was fantastic. Our last night we had a little fiesta and some of the staff and guest join us making our last night a most memorable one.
We will definitely will return for another romantic visit with our extended family.
