“Not bad, could use a few tweaks though”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

On paper, this hotel has it all, and it's really quite nice. Clean, well equipped, modern. What let it down in my opinion was the truly terrible food in the restaurant (Tony Roma's) and the poor wifi system which was intermittent at best and would not connect at all to a mac. Having said that, if you were there on holiday in the high season rather than working in January you might have a better experience!

“What a shame. Spain needs tourism, hotels like this make no effort.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

This hotel is large and has all the facilities you'd expect from a large hotel.

Maybe our experience was below average because if was out of season.

I've been fortunate to travel for work and stay in hundreds of hotels across the world. I've never use a hotel spa/gym and been expected to pay cash or credit card. Surely being able to charge to room is page one?! Spa looks great is badly kept. Toilets smelt and many of the showers/thermal jets just didn't work. If you like saunas then you'll laugh and this excuse for a sauna!

On the plus side the hotel is well positioned in the peak season near the beach with a great looking exterior pool.

The attached restaurant, is pretty average with poor service. When we came to pay, the waiter couldn't drag himself away from the telephone.

Worth a go in the peak season but I'd not expect great
Service on the off season!

“Very poor service :(”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

A very nice looking hotel, but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

On arrival checking in took ages, we had to pay for room upfront, in fact every thing seemed to be this way, we ordered breakfast in bed and I had to scrape all my change together to pay there and then rather than it being added to room bill ( Not what you'd expect from 4*!)

Worse yet to come! on Saturday evening after spending all-day away from the hotel, A drink at the hotel bar seemed in order, no chance! I was accused of having a coffee by the pool and not paying for it by the very surly waitress who refused to serve me from that point on, I later heard she gave someone else the same treatment!

Would I go back, emphatic NO!

“I highly recommend this hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2010

I loved it ! nice service, very helpfull. My room was very big, clean, cozy, with a great view and nice balcony.
I didn't get a chance to check the pool area, as I went there for business purposes, plus during the wihter time I only gave it a glance, and it looked quite nice. Besides the beaches in Gandia are one of the most beaufitul beaches I have ever seen in my life ... and I do travel a lot :) so I don't think anybody would prefer to stay at the pool having such beaches so close.
Amazing breakfast... all that you could possibly feel like eating :)
the hotel is not at the beach, but If you ask for a room on higher floors, you'll get a AMAZING view

“New and clean, that's the end of the hotel's positive points...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2009

Brand new will get you a clean room with sheets, towels and blankets that do not cause disgust, a more or less fresh interior design and a working television set, as well as a wireless internet connection, but what it won't give you is a helpful staff, common courtesy, charm or peace and quiet, all of which are utterly lacking at this tacky soon-to-be a dump. Once the furnishings have become worn and tired, all the hotel will have left is its incredibly rude staff, who treated us horribly at check-in and every time we asked a question (well, we basically asked two: the first was whether there was a spa/massage service available, since the hotel brags that it offers this service all over, but doesn't say how to use it...the snotty 20-year-old at the desk started her answer with "Are you even guests here?") When we checked out, instead of anything resembling "Thanks for staying here" or "Hope you had a nice time," we were just told "You gave us the key, good" with no goodbye at all. As common in Spanish hotels, unlike the entire rest of the universe, the breakfast was not included. And then there was the noise! All day, all night, all evening, all afternoon. The rooms look out over a Las Vegas-style tacky entrance, and the hotel is literally surrounded by trendy clubs. The street is like a motorway almost 24 hours a day, so you never stop hearing muffler-less motorcycles, cars, drunk teens and a general constant presence of people and vehicles. In order to put up with the racket (I slept with earplugs both nights) you must close the door, and ¡surprise! the air conditioning does not work! The last wonderful surprise in our non-smoking room was that the vent in the bathroom, whose purpose I assume is to provide fresh air and let the steam out, was somehow directly connected to somebody smoking. So from time to time, the entire bathroom would fill with a hideous smell of cigarettes!!! Especially during the night. Obviously this ended up filling the whole room, as well. Not recommended at all, this hotel must be even more insufferable in summer when it is 90 degrees out.
